A picture where chomis918 merged Fyren and Gasklockan in the same picture

Not much information as of yet!
Hasse78 November 18th, 2009, 01:19 PM It looks good in close..... but on distance it looks to much like a "skorssten" IMO. Atleast on the daylight pictures from Lidingö. Still it would be nice to see this project become reality.
Boscorelli November 18th, 2009, 03:59 PM ^^
I feel the same way about the look of it but I must say that it would be amazing if built! :)
Corporate.slave November 18th, 2009, 10:35 PM I think it fits the area.
AW November 18th, 2009, 10:39 PM I think that render looks completely out of proportion. Being almost 200m, it'll be much higher than that irl.
Chilenofuturista November 19th, 2009, 02:39 AM Nice!

What picture are you talking about then? I think it looks completly correct.

We get that feeling because its so alone. Within a mini cluster it would look good. :)

The last one (or 4 and 7 to be correct). If that tower is as close to the bridge as I'm assuming it is, I'm 10000% sure it'll appear much taller.

Those are some killer butterflies.
I am not sure if I am that crazy about the building. I am sorry to say but I think it looks like one big chimney. The spot is perfect but with no other taller buildings nearby I think a more "icon-building" would fit better.
Boscorelli April 14th, 2010, 09:02 PM I feel the same way, but it is at a very early stage so a lot can happened to the look, just look at Tors Torn where the final look will be presented in june.
Stockholmsfyren hasn't even reached the starting stage like Gasklockan has, so it is early days yet.
A funny thing I noticed today though was that some parts of Stockholmsfyren looks very much like the highrise proposal for Borås by the same architect
This is in Borås but compare with Stockholmsfyren

ScraperDude April 26th, 2010, 10:45 PM I'm sorry.. I absolutely LOVE STHLM but some of the proposed towers are just flat out unattractive and majority of them are too boxy. All with no crowned roofs just flat and unappealing to the eye. I would love to see a tower proposed with a spire or multiple spires and something with multiple setbacks. I know not every tower can be edgy in design but Stockholm needs to think outside the box.. so to speak!

I AGREE!

Spires are so not edgy:;)
I do agree that this is not good enough and that designs tend to be too boxi in Stockholm and our region as a whole...
Talking about thinking outside the box, here's Joseph Pelling's take on it:

dj4life April 27th, 2010, 01:13 PM Sweden, as a kingdom, should have at least few grand scrapers, which would be recognisable and interesting, yet not kitchy or dull.
Well, this is my dream, at least. :)
Boscorelli April 27th, 2010, 09:29 PM It is at a really early stage yet and I surtenly hope that it will change quite a lot, it hasn't even reached the starting stage, which if you think it should look different from what it does now is a good thing.
Boscorelli April 6th, 2011, 10:49 AM As seen here there is no room for Stockholmsfyren by the bridge but I havn't heard anything official about it being cancelled, so I don't knoiw what to think.
Below is the winning proposal by Tengbom for Östra Värtan.

Vormek April 6th, 2011, 05:41 PM Vilket fint järnrör, om jag får vara lite komisk.
Boscorelli April 6th, 2011, 06:23 PM ^^
Eller fyr! ;)
VECTROTALENZIS April 7th, 2011, 05:29 PM ^^
The plan looks very suburban and I have a feeling that the area will be quite sleepy in the future...
Nightsky April 9th, 2011, 06:01 PM Looks amazing inside and close, like you said a bit chimney like from a distance but still a nice idea. But I prefer if skyscrapers are be built closer to the city center.
sthlm30 April 9th, 2011, 06:59 PM this would fit perfectly in kista.
dj4life April 9th, 2011, 07:38 PM As the tallest building in Sweden is the iconic Turning Torso, it would be very good, if a tower of a similar height (or even taller) which is planed to be built in Stockholm had an interesting design, aswell. I, myself, also like the interior of 'Stockholms Fyren', but not the exterior. If it was accepted one day, i only wish that it was redesigned. :)
podline July 9th, 2012, 09:45 PM Any news on this one, or is it dead?
Zebulon85 July 10th, 2012, 08:48 PM ^^
It's all but dead. I would say the plans are put on ice until the final stage of Norra Djurgårdsstaden (stage 4) is up for (or have completed) construction.
That is, we're going to have to wait for a very looong time to see anything happen here:)
