Rising at the corner of 16th St. S and Central Ave., Fusion 1560 will be walking distance to Tropicana Field and many fine restaurants and retail along Central Avenue. With 326 apartment units and over 13,000 sqft of retail, Fusion 1560 will become one of the premier apartment projects in St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area.

Current Update:

Construction has begun on the parking garage portion and is mostly completed. Thanks to Jahi for the information, the apartments will rise around the parking garage.

Here's the website: http://fusion1560.com/ and it's built by Zaremba Group(the same people who are building the new apartments on Gandy by the dogtrack).

Nice to see rental going up in downtown. Miles Development (that built The Sage condos near the DT Publix) have a proposal for a similar development on the opposite corner of Central Ave and 16th Street. Central Ave has great potential as a real urban corridor.

Hopefully this does encourage more development in the area. I'm surprise that we didn't see that much attention around the Tropicana District when the BOOM was occuring. If I was a developer, that area would had my second option after a closer location to the water.

This development will definately help out also with retail options for attendees to baseball games at the Trop. Outside Trop, the closest location for a decent choosing of retail is in downtown. Central Ave. looks to have more formal shops like wedding dresses and floral stores.

What does everyone want to see fill up the retail units?

I'd like to see 'hip' clothing retail store and maybe a small grocery/ convenient store.

Fusion 1560 City Apartment Homes, 1560 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL. Client: ZarCalRes Central, LLC
An urban infill project in downtown St. Petersburg, this project is contemporary and “edgy” to fit in with the artistic nature of the city and to attract young professional tenants. These 325 units have a tremendous amenities package to offer its residents including a swimming pool with lap lanes, a 20’ height lighted tower waterfall in the spa, trellises, numerous sculptures, fog hills and fabric shade structures. Though the project consists of only 2 relatively small courtyards and a rooftop deck, the attention to detail and the use of industrial materials and custom designed sculptures makes this unlike any other project in St. Petersburg. Project is under construction.

I would like to see a clothing store, sporting store, hair salon, and a CVS kind of store. Maybe a arts studio/arts gallery to front Central Ave.

Also, I hope they warn the future residents about Ferg's before they move in. Ferg's shouldn't be forced to surn the music and atmosphere down because of this development.

I think the type of resident they hope to attract will appreciate having Ferg's so close, and won't be bothered by the noise.

I didn't get a picture but I looks like the the garage may be completed soon, it's pretty tall and stands out among the rest of the area. Now it looks like a solid concrete block
