MilwaukeeD November 20th, 2009, 04:54 AM it won't be built on top of an historic mansion, it will be built behind it, using the mansion as the lobby.
Paule November 20th, 2009, 02:36 PM Wow, these rendering show alot more than the older smaller ones. It reminds me of the Kilbourn Tower. I say new Land needs to stop with the Bookends and just consintrate on getting this one done!!
Milwaukee, WY November 20th, 2009, 04:12 PM The floor count and height must be the bluff, or lake side of the building.
Twoaday November 20th, 2009, 06:29 PM @Paule It is going to be a while before they build this one. All very high-end condos, and as we know the condo market is tough now, hence the bookends which is apartments.
Paule November 20th, 2009, 09:57 PM So who added the 425' to the title and where did you get that info from. I'm interested because I want to give the right info so that this is updated over at SSP.

Building height taken from the most recent drawings submitted to the City for approval, available on the City website. Here's a zoomed in image:

Ok, thanks Eastsider, but do you know where they started their measurement from? I also have another question but unrelated to the Transera. I could have swore that Emporis always had listed The Landmark on the lake at 350' but now they are listing it at only 248'. Do you remember ever seeing it listed as 350' or am I just dreaming?

The measurements begin 2 floors below ground level because the base is exposed, that's where the Spa, Pool, and Gym are located. Otherwise the rest of the measurements are above ground level.
Looks like parking podiums are rubbing off from our friends in Chicago.

And no clue about the measurements of landmark on Emporis.

Well, I went over to SSP and said that the building would be at 425' because that's what it was posted at here in the title, but then it was questioned because the 1522 is only at 192' and by looking at the renderings there was no way this building could be at 425'. I agreed with him but couldn't explain just where the 425' came from or how they were taking the measurement. But your posts here have cleared it all up, thanks alot!!
Coldwake November 21st, 2009, 02:45 AM It looks like ground level is listed at 100'. That must mean the building is actually 325'. Still not bad...

True, and yes, not bad. But this leads to another problem with the 425' tally; by reviewing the renderings, the difference between where they point to the 100' mark and where the building extends to it's lowest point is no where near 100'. It looks like it's about 2 to 3 floors at the most, and which would be 36' with each floor being 12'. I honestly think they didn't start the measurement at the base of the bluff side of the building but the base of the bluff itself. I think to be safe the building should be listed at around 325' and no more.
progressisgood January 24th, 2010, 08:25 PM Will there be any news updates on Transera?

Buy a condo there, that should help a bit
I imagine with the market how it is, if we don't see a handful of millionaires who want the same lakefront property, this won't get built anytime soon.
bjkeys321 January 24th, 2010, 11:22 PM I didn't know this one's taller than the UCT. This would be a great piece to the lakefront skyline
progressisgood January 25th, 2010, 12:23 AM UCT is 446' Transara says 425'
Paule January 25th, 2010, 01:05 PM UCT is 446' Transara says 425'
They're taking that measurement from the bottom of the bluff. Most will tell you that the height of a building is from street level, the bluff is 100' high, that means the building will be 325' if built.
MilwaukeeMax January 25th, 2010, 10:14 PM what is the estimated time that construction will begin on this? i really like the narrow look of the tower and the ground level ivy climbing up even the modern structure.
Twoaday January 25th, 2010, 10:19 PM @MilwaukeeMax I'm pretty sure this on hold until they can pre-sell enough high end condos, which in this economy will probably be awhile.
Coldwake April 19th, 2010, 05:57 PM I think it caries elements of kilbourn and moderne... but not offensive.
MilwaukeeMike May 17th, 2010, 06:41 PM Any news on this one? They still have the sign up. Was this held up by the local government, the bank, or both?
Coldwake May 17th, 2010, 08:21 PM They are actively marketing the Transera right now, but given the current market conditions, the fact that they'll need more collateral then they used to, and the troubles that Anchor bank is giving New Land it will be quite a while before this goes anywhere. IF it goes anywhere that is.

Sadness...... :ohno: I really liked the renderings of this tower, maybe in 5 years.
