View Full Version : NEW YORK | 770 11th Avenue ( Clinton Park ) | 106m | 348ft | 30 fl | Com
Ni3lS November 28th, 2009, 09:31 AM Normally it's not really worth mentioning a tower only 348ft/106m tall in a city like New York. This is a very special design and worth sharing IMO :)

royal rose1 November 28th, 2009, 09:48 AM WOW didnt think it was gonna be built
JC_Zwolle November 28th, 2009, 05:22 PM Wow, very cool! I saw this one a while ago but didn't know it was gonna be built in NY.
Phobos November 28th, 2009, 05:25 PM It looks cool.
City of Rain November 28th, 2009, 06:24 PM i really like this one, though i think the tallest part could have been made even taller, to make it look sorta like an individual skyscraper, with steps attached to it.
that way itd have a bigger impact on the skyline.
MDguy November 28th, 2009, 06:35 PM The shape is very cool. The facade and windows are quite ugly though
xlchris November 28th, 2009, 06:51 PM Good looking building for New York. Quite high as well.
Ervin2 November 29th, 2009, 02:01 AM So will it be possible to climb to the top via the sloping roof?
Philly Bud November 29th, 2009, 03:45 AM "Clinton Park"????! We used to call that neighborhood HELL'S KITCHEN!!!!!!!
Ni3lS November 29th, 2009, 05:32 AM So will it be possible to climb to the top via the sloping roof?
No way. You can try it though :)
HK999 November 29th, 2009, 01:11 PM great news, the 'stairs' are finally U/C! this will look great, definitely.
Ervin2 November 30th, 2009, 01:44 AM No way. You can try it though :)
I was hoping there would be steps between each roof. Oh well.
Ganis November 30th, 2009, 02:14 AM very nice design. I like it.
Prinz Eugen November 30th, 2009, 01:28 PM pretty original
xlchris November 30th, 2009, 06:59 PM Great area btw. A small park infront of your apartment. Close to 12th Ave and Central Park. And you have a perfect view on the Hudson River and New Jersey.
Ni3lS November 30th, 2009, 07:11 PM Great area btw. A small park infront of your apartment. Close to 12th Ave and Central Park. And you have a perfect view on the Hudson River and New Jersey.
Not so sure about that one..I'll check it out next week.
xlchris November 30th, 2009, 07:50 PM ^^Probably not a clear view, but if you got an apartment on the 10th floor or so you will be able to look to the Hudson river (and even New Jersey). Right?
http://i50.tinypic.com/m9qgqw.jpg
Ni3lS November 30th, 2009, 10:48 PM I think it's in the block where the Ford manhattan service is too. You know what I mean? You can also see on the renders that the lower part is pointing towards the river first so that means that the lower part of the higher part (sounds confusing) other said the tower doesn't seem to have a view at all. The top part might have a few of the hudson river but it all depends on the buildings in front of it. Also the stair structure ruins the view for quite a lot of apartments.
xlchris December 1st, 2009, 06:52 AM I understand. Not all apartments will have that view. Still, some of them will get a nice view :) At least the area is going to get better looking with this.
buy December 1st, 2009, 03:46 PM This area presently is an industrial dump. 11th Avenue is lined with auto dealers that operate out of filthy, broken down warehouses. However, as the far west side between 23rd Street and 59th Street is gentrifying now, this area will emerge as quite beautiful. On the adjacent avenues (9th and 10th), there are scores of beautiful old structures.
Yeah Hells Kitchen south + north Chelsea are totally shitty places. The Daily Show is filmed right on the corner of that park...a stones throw from the Hustler club and a few blocks from a nasty area full of exit/entrance ramps for tunnels and imposing municipal buildings like an open air train depot, a giant mail vehicle repair depot and a water treatment plant on the Hudson.
The whole Hudson yards project, if built, should revitalize (gentrify) the entire area. The only plus of Hells Kitchen is the awesome views of midtown you get while running along the river parkway imo.
leechtat December 1st, 2009, 06:16 PM this is very nice. unique design. i wish though that the green steps are more prevalent in the structure.
HK999 July 9th, 2010, 01:20 PM the "stairs" are back in race...!

Rental Tower Clinton Park Still Rising Over Hell's Kitchen
http://ny.curbed.com/uploads/clintonpark1_7_10.jpg
July 7, 2010, by Sara
Last we checked on Hell's Kitchen's forthcoming Clinton Park project from starchitect Enrique Norten and the Walentas team, construction was off to a slow start. But no longer! A tipster sends in the above construction shot, taken from Eleventh Avenue and 53rd Street, of the luxury rental ziggurat with future Mercedes Benz emporium and NYPD horse stable below.
Our tipster writes, "After a year of horizontal growth, they are aggressively rising vertically, adding four floors in about a month—a fast clip for a project in this uncertain economy." Trying to make up for lost time?

xXFallenXx July 9th, 2010, 04:05 PM Hell yeah, great news!
HK999 July 9th, 2010, 05:11 PM Hell yeah, great news!
yeah, considering there was a rumor that construction has stopped with the 3rd floor, it really is! as one can clearly see they are above the 3rd floor, so i'm positive this building will be built to its full height!
Hepec July 9th, 2010, 05:49 PM BORING! LOOKS LIKE THOSE COMMIE BLOCKS IN ROMANIA!!!!

RobertWalpole August 11th, 2010, 05:34 AM Something is wrong with you if you don't think it's a unique building. There's another one like it, but you don't see a building like this in every city.
ChitownCity August 11th, 2010, 06:51 AM ^ Thats true, The ones in Baie Des Anges look real cool and fits nicely for its tropical location, but the one in NY is way out of the norm and is very unique. I Love it!!!

Ni3lS September 15th, 2010, 07:03 PM And damn it's rising fast! Thanks for the update
Philly Bud September 16th, 2010, 06:29 PM What is interesting is that years ago the "Hell's Kitchen" neighborhood was one of the last rough neighborhoods in Manhattan. I remember way back, in the early 1980's - it was the place you could buy drugs ("crack" cocaine was popular then) and pick up a prostitute. As AIDS became more of a problem and Guiliani was took a hard line on crime the neighborhood started to change by the late '80's early '90's. Now it's an expensive place to live!
Middle-Island September 17th, 2010, 08:15 AM At least it will look better at street level. Looks a little awkward from above.
HK999 October 15th, 2010, 03:46 PM it's speeding up!

One blockbuster facade reveal deserves another, so hot on the heels of The Nolitan's big unveiling, a tipster alerts us to the happenings up at architect Enrique Norten's massive Clinton Park rental building for developer Two Trees: "Here are pics of the Clinton Park facade going up on 11th Ave on the the 54th Street side. It's interesting and matches the rendering, I think. Very industrial. Any new information on the huge health club they have going in there?" Sorry, we've been too obsessed with the Mercedes mansion in the building to glean any other info. We're liking the looks of things so far. Agree?

This turned out even worse than the renders indicated. Might look good from the air once the trees are planted but from street level it will still be an eyesore.

Malyan November 29th, 2011, 12:46 PM The design is magnificent, but the cladding really looks like a 1970s commieblock. Depressing to see how a great building is being ruined :ohno:
RobertWalpole November 30th, 2011, 04:04 AM Not only is this a nice project, but the old Mercedes dealership near the Lincoln Tunnel is now empty and has A LOT of air rights. You know what that will entail!

Ni3lS January 14th, 2012, 04:20 PM A welcome addition to the skyline of NY. Love the stairs in this design.
royal rose1 January 15th, 2012, 08:48 PM In my opinion this buildings is Dubai meets NYC, and I like it! I hate the buildings that go up in dubai, but this one is nice because it has the curves of a very modern buildings, but it's still conservative enough to go along well in NYC! It also offers some nice contrast to the rest of the skyline.
