Brisbane is really moving forward.

The chance of this being built are very high, and in addition to this the developer has been rumoured to be looking for a 3rd site to build a tall skyscraper for residential purposes.

Very nice tower. Could you please make a more proper thread title next time? 'Residential' isn't necessary and can be replaced by Pro. Which means proposed :)

And contruction has commenced, with preliminary excavation and drilling now underway.

Status is preparation.

With Vision now scrapped are ever going to get a tower with a observation deck for those of us who can't afford to buy into one of these ivory towers? Yet again another 70+ story building going up in Brisbane without an observation deck. How dearly we need one in Brisbane.

We do however have Mt Coot-tha... I agree that an ob deck would be great, but compared to coot-tha a) You'd have to pay, whereas Mt Coot-tha is free b) From a tower in the city, you can't actually take pics of the whole city like you can from Coot-tha...

Infinity or Soleil ... which one do people prefer?

I prefer the location of Infinity as it's close to the Gallery of Modern Art ... and adds much needed height to that northern end of the city.

Update, Infinity (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=573478&page=47)is now under construction with the crane going in this week by the looks. Also the height has now increased, now 249m with 81st.

Nah, no flooding here as far as I know...the directly opposite side of the river (South Brisbane, West End) on the other hand...

And Idea how much is the price fpr a unit there?

I imagine it would be similar to Meriton's other project, Soleil.

Very nice design, just like the new Soleil tower. It almost looks like they are designed as twin towers. Are both constructionsites close to eachother? And is there a rendering avalaibe with both towers in the skyline?

The sites are actually on opposite sides of the city, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Hopefully over time they'll set a precedence for height in their respective parts of the city.

These two towers are going to perfectly 'border' the northern and south-western edges of downtown Brisbane... go BrisVegas go!!!

I thought these were twins. I'm not wrong in thinking they look pretty similar? This has to be a pretty rare event, having two buildings which could be twins built almost at the same time some distance from each other?

^^They're built by the same developer and designed by the same architectural firm, using pretty much the same materials and identical glass. However, Infinity is octagonal in shape and Soleil (the other building) isn't. :)

Nice looking tower, and a great addition tho the skyline, But it has so many floors:nuts:.
The most floors under 250m in the world. Only Aurora has less floor-to-floor height in Brisbane.

^^yeah, we tend to cram the floors in for some reason. Soleil, on the opposite side of the city has 74 floors and 243m. Soul on the Gold Coast is 243m also and 77 floors. Q1 has 235m and 78 floors (while techically 322.5m - no floors in a spire!). Many buildings with this amount of floors in other countries would all be supertalls :(
