And the proposed Mölndal Tower. It will be the tallest building in the region in the center of the Gothenburg suburb of Mölndal.
Nightsky November 22nd, 2005, 05:04 PM Actually, it's Engelbrektskyrkan. I know, because it's right outside my window when in school (like right now). Immanuelskyrkan is two blocks away, and without the tower.
Yes, I know, I just wrote the wrong name in this thread (the name is right in the diagram).
Nightsky November 22nd, 2005, 05:07 PM @Atlantica C5: What about all these masts? There are several websites that claim that Hörbymasten is Sweden's tallest structure.
AtlanticaC5 November 22nd, 2005, 06:18 PM ^^ Yup, I guess it is because Hörbymasten is the most "famous" mast in Sweden, so they think it's the tallest then :) It was actually the tallest structure in Sweden for some years (don't know how many), but there are several taller masts.
staff November 22nd, 2005, 06:56 PM Why is Hörbymasten the most known? Masts are masts - I can't see why one would be more known that the other, just because it's located in Hörby (of all places). :)
Nightsky November 23rd, 2005, 09:44 PM Probably because it was the first supertall mast in Sweden.
My grandfather was one of the lead project engineers.:)
staff November 23rd, 2005, 09:51 PM Wow, that's something. :)
AtlanticaC5 November 27th, 2005, 06:31 PM Drawing update:

staff November 28th, 2005, 09:31 PM Snusdosan - Kiruna, Sweden
Haha, what the fuck? :)
AtlanticaC5 November 29th, 2005, 07:43 PM ^^ Never heard of it before? :D Well, maybe it's not the official name, but everyone in Kiruna calls it that. Of what I've read it got the name because of the shape and color, even though I don't really think it looks like a snuff box :)
staff November 29th, 2005, 10:35 PM Hehe, nah I haven't heard of it. Ridiculous name whatsoever (as for most of Sweden's highrises - "Skrapan", "Skatteskrapan" etc. Originality! :|). :)
Nightsky December 3rd, 2005, 07:27 PM Snusdosan also has its cousins Spottkoppen and Berlinmuren. :D
Swede December 3rd, 2005, 10:55 PM ^Don't forget the most obvious one - Dallasskrapan in Solna. It's called that everywhere I've seen (incl. by the City). Never heard of a better erason for the name than that it resembled the glass tower on the intro to the 80s show 'Dallas'.
Nightsky December 19th, 2005, 01:26 AM The thing that make it even more ridicilous is that not even real skyscrapers are not called "skrapan" or "skyscraper"!:D
Þróndeimr December 21st, 2005, 04:47 PM Some new buildings from Norway! :)

Nightsky December 23rd, 2005, 01:42 AM I made a version of my drawing of Turning Torso, how it looks after dark. I have also made an own thread about it.

Note that my goal was not to make it as realistic as possible.
An even darker version:

Þróndeimr April 13th, 2006, 01:56 PM ^ Your Bergen Rådhus drawning is very nice!, though the building it self isn't that nice! ;)
kjetilab April 13th, 2006, 02:31 PM Nice drawings from Bergen. Looking forward to more:) There have been a lot of proposals, many of them unrealistic, but only time will tell I guess..
Matthieu June 22nd, 2006, 01:47 PM This thread needs to be archived, I'm leaving it around for a few days so you people can create a new one and copy/paste what you need to copy paste in the new one. Pm me the next one so I stick it and I'll archive this one then.
Matthieu June 28th, 2006, 10:57 PM Time to archive.
