Hello! I've been drawing buildings on the SSP-diagram for some months, and I have seen that quite many buildings in the S&B-region haven't got drawings, and many buildings are missing too as you can see here (http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?6028235), especially in Finland. So now, I will start drawing S&B-buildings that haven't got any drawings yet, or maybe if the drawing has got the wrong height. I've already made some Swedish buildings, but many in the region are still missing. My goal is to draw all buildings that are +50 m. Let's see if I'll make it! :) My first one is the Academy of Science in Riga:

Also search for buildings in Espoo - that's where many of Helsinki's high-rises are located, for example buidlings like Fortum, Kone Building, Meritorni, etc.

Yup, Paint is the only program I use for drawing, but I save the buildings as .gif in IrfanView :)

Is it small? It's 108 pixels tall, and the scale in the diagrams is 1 pixel = 1 m. So don't expect any very big buildings! :D

Academy of Science is 108 m with spire. In Soviet times there was a red star on spire, later it was removed. May be this is problem - the change of the height?

1. maybe it could be a few (5-6) pixels narrower
2. the lower part is exactly of the same width as the tower, in the rendering it is closer thus looking wider.

It's a project of Gandraliskes Residential Quarter, according to the developers it all will be complete until 2010 and the construction starts this summer. Looks very ambitious and I even would say not very realistic (klaipeda's population is only 190,000), but the developer is a group of some of the largest Lithuanian companies so they have all capabilities to realize it, we'll see how it goes :)
It's just a pity that it's not in Vilnius :D

Okay. :) I'm just wondering whether it's up to the quality standards at SSP. Also, does it matter, if I took few liberties with the drawing, since those two reference pictures show very little of the building - ie. there's no way knowing how the ground floor looks like or how the windows are arranged on the taller, 24 stories tall part.

Yeah, can't recall any better renderings either. And I have to say your drawing captures the one shown in all the renderings I've seen pretty well (since we've only seen one or two perspectives...;)).

@ober - I'd go with the first one, but that white bit in the corner needs to go (I have NO clue how that is done though). As for the parts you've deduced, if they haven't been shown in the renderings there's really no way to get it more accurate! :)

Just one thing Nightsky, at the top of the windows in your new Kockumhuset, it looks like the windows are going "up", if you understand. Should it be like that? The rest looks fine though.

Btw, I am not added to the members at "Association Members".

Sometimes you have to wait quite long, (one time I had to wait for more than a week :)) but sooner or later it will be there, usually within some days :) You have to be a member at the SSP diagram to upload drawings. When you are logged in and click on a building, it opens up in a new window, and you can see a small text in the upper left corner, which says "Upload a drawing". Click it, and then follow the description :)

Now I have drawn Gårda Business Center in Göteborg, better known as Canonhuset. A good idea is to talk to stadsbyggnadsnämnden(building authority) and you can get drawings of a building sent to your home. As there was no info on internet, I had to figure out that way. The building is 59m and 18 floors tall.

I also want to add that Quality Hotel Konserthuset is 44m. I have seen Disco´s drawings, it is hard to believe he is a beginner. My drawing of Kockumshuset was really a beginners drawing.

Ohoho, Daniil, this is great one! Unfortunately (naturally) over the last weeks there have been changes to the design - there appeared large letters: Hansabanka and there are also more complex things at the lower part in black colour. The house is also somewhat lighter, not so dark.
Hope there will be no big problem for you to update the rendering - otherwise it is perfect work!!!

Radisson SAS Strand Hotel (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=213412) in Stockholm. It was actually the first Swedish high-rise building with 12 floors or more (it has 13 floors, built in 1912). The greenish on it is ivy:

For those who haven't seen it, my version Hörby mast is currently Sweden´s tallest structure on the diagram. My grandfather was one of the leaders of the constrution team!

I have added couple of Tampere buildings to the diagram, now someone just have to draw them. :)
