I do December 3rd, 2009, 06:00 AM Tel-Aviv would easily make it to the list!
USARG December 3rd, 2009, 08:40 AM BUENOS AIRES'S OBELISK CENTER AND CORRIENTES AVE.ARE A GREAT MIX OF TIME SQUARE AND LONDON'S PICCADILLY CIRCUS.:)
SORRY NO PICS.....
Ribarca December 3rd, 2009, 08:42 AM Of all the cities I have visited it must be Madrid that was the most lively at night any day of the week.
christos-greece December 3rd, 2009, 05:50 PM Times square in NYC, is indeed amazing... i wait to see the other cities too
HK999 December 3rd, 2009, 09:48 PM Of all the cities I have visited it must be Madrid that was the most lively at night any day of the week.
well, for me it's tokyo (visited it in 2007). madrid? surely because it's pretty warm at night (over the whole year) and because of the spanish temperament!
Leo10Rio December 3rd, 2009, 10:18 PM TOKYO!

Abidrovia December 3rd, 2009, 10:25 PM I wish there could be more places similar Time Square in North America. The only place that even comes close to being as interesting as Times Square is a square in Toronto whose name I can not remember and that location is still not even comparable to Times Square.

Yeah, I love all the neon lights in times square, ive always wondered whether similar things were in other big cities, excluding the well known ones. The only other comparable places I can think of are in London, Toronto and Tokyo. It gives a really busy sort of feel at night, like the city is still fully awake. By the way, the place in Toronto you are probably thinking of is Yonge-Dundas Square:

Its still nowhere near as impressive as times square, but its still quite cool.
Peshu December 4th, 2009, 06:50 AM I agree . Madrid is the ultimate city that never sleeps . I've travelled and have experienced nothing like it .

scorpiogenius December 9th, 2009, 08:21 PM Nice concept for a thread.
I love the TOKYO images here. One amazing city!
brianmoon85 December 10th, 2009, 12:02 AM Seoul NEVER closes. New York might be amazing (It is, and in fact, I live in Times Square) but after hours, things close and can get pretty mediocre.
Tokyo is awesome but it's NOT 24 hours. On the contrary, Seoul never sleeps, bars, restaurants are open till like 5am in the morning and shopping never stops in Dongdaemun where stores actually open at 10pm!!
nygirl December 10th, 2009, 12:21 AM Yeah mainstream clubs and bars close down or die down by about 5 AM and last call is infact 4 am (I'm a bar owner) but I know of umpteen places in Manhattan and throughout the boroughs that will keep serving if paying customers keep walking in.
There are also after hours places that continue serving all night.
A ways back...not too long before my latest SSC days I would walk into Zebulon @ 8:30 on a saturday night and stay until 7 am when fresh patrons are just walking into the place. I guess it is 12:00 o'clock somewhere in the world eh?
arief_malaysia96 December 10th, 2009, 12:21 AM my top 5:
vegas:casino
NY:Times Square
Hong Kong
Japan:Ginza
Singapore:Orchard road
Malaysia:Bintang Walk/Bukit Bintang
Phriggin' Ogre December 10th, 2009, 12:41 AM What about lively cities that don't exactly have elaborate lighting?
KAZAN RESIDENT December 10th, 2009, 12:43 AM Here should be Moscow!!!
Shezan December 10th, 2009, 03:35 AM NY ad Tokyo over all
fredcalif December 10th, 2009, 02:47 PM Madrid, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and then the rest
Alvr23 December 10th, 2009, 03:35 PM Madrid is the most lively city at night. In Madrid you can go out at night everyday. On Monday, Tuesday... and, of course, at weekend. In Madrid going out at night means leaving home at 1 o'clok and arrive at 6 o'clock, even 8 or 9 at weekends or holidays.
Bur also in winter, although temperatures at night sometimes are lower than 0ºC.

 Totally agree . I think too many people only name the cities they know . I've been to just about every city mentioned on this thread and the truth is Madrid makes these other cities seem sleepy when it comes to nightlife 24/7 .

All the big cities in Asia, the big cities in Europe etc. The difference I found is that in Madrid it's crazy even after 12 o'clock on a weekday. We were on holiday and we felt we were the first ones to go to sleep. Hong Kong is crazy in the evenings but at night the activity is very concentrated in a few streets.

madsidsav December 11th, 2009, 08:56 PM I met a Londoner whilst in Bangkok who said that the majority of London's streets are very quiet once the commuters have returned to the suburbs. Even at 4 am on a weeknight a taxi from one district of Bangkok to another means lengthy queues at every junction and people of all different ages on the streets. Bangkok made most European capitals seem like villages.

I've been to Tel Aviv twice . And those two times i went with a good friend of mine who is a native of Tel Aviv but now resides in Melbourne just like me . So i was lucky enough to have experienced the best of Tel Aviv .
Nightlife there can be awesome . But it aint Madrid . Not even in the same league . Just ask my friend

I agreewith the comment on HK. Other than LKF, bits around Central including IFC, parts of Wanchai and Nathan Rd on Kowloon, the city does kind of die after midnight.

k0puHKg_CjQ
Sacre bleu!
Bonjour, monsieur, Paris really welcomes you.
It's the best room in the house.
It's 40 francs a night, alright?
It's crazy, it isn't worth a centime.
I'll take it.
Merci, monsieur
Rouged lips in the gaslight
A great view of the hall
That's the way the croissant crumbles after all
Paris is only one step away
Les girls are out on bail
Tres bien, there's love for sale
Oh my cheri, wish you were mine
And I'll show you a wonderful time
For the price of a cheap champagne
I'll show it you once again
One night in Paris is like a year in any other place
One night in Paris will wipe the smile off your pretty face
One girl in Paris is like loving every woman
One night in Paris, one night in Paris
One night in Paris may be your last!
[Part Two: The Same Night In Paris]
Is he gonna buy? Hey, you wanna little culture?
Is he gonna pay? Maybe Monsieur is into photographs, non?
Or is he gonna fall in love the all American way?
I got a watch wiz a beautiful Swiss movement
Is he gonna buy? Oh forget ze watch, I'll show you a good time!
Is he gonna pay? Le connoisseur, want something different?
Or is he gonna fall in love the all American way?
Oh you know you ain't no Casanova
You can't even do the Bossa Nova
Or the Tango or the Samba!
Though you are so very charming, no you ain't no Casanova!
Is he gonna buy, is he gonna buy?
Is he gonna pay, is he gonna pay?
Or is he gonna fall in love the all American way?
Sometimes I think he will, but then again...
One night in Paris is like a year in any other place
One night in Paris will wipe the smile off your pretty face
Try a girl in Paris, but try one of mine
Each night in Paris, each night in Paris
Each night in Paris may be your last!
[Part Three: Later The Same Night In Paris]
Forty two, quarante-deux, Rue de Saint Jacques
All our girls are, how you say, good in the sack
I was a stripper on the Champs-Elysees
He was a Gendarme in the Gendarmerie
Going ooh la la la ooh la la la la ahh
He was a pimp in a black beret
But he was an artiste in his own way
Going ooh la la la ooh la la la la ahh
When they raided my club that night, that night
They ruined my act with the leather umbrella
The Chief of Police got a fright, got a fright
He was up in my boudoir with some other fella
Ooh it's only routine
But I got this feeling it ain't good for business
Then the floor cleared, a woman screamed to herself
Henri... though you're not the toast of Paris, I love you
Although you bed and beat me, Henri
Leave it alone for the Gendarme's just doing his job
Paris is only one step away, murder is only one step away
Notre Dame is ringing her bells
Another gendarme has gone to Hell
To Hell, to Hell to Hell, to Hell
To Hell, to Hell to Hell
One night in Paris is like a year in any other place
One night in Paris will wipe the smile off your pretty face
One girl in Paris is like loving every woman
This night in Paris, this night in Paris
This night in Paris may be your last!
