It seems that the looks built last time was much better..i mean now..even the condos in Mon't Kiara you can see buldging cement lines that divides each floor.. and the surface looks rather blemishy..tacky
One Persiaran Gurney looks smooth

Hey, isn't Wisma Peladang being converted into a 3-star hotel by the Piccolo Mondo group? What is the work progress so far?

What i see is that the Piccolo Mondo restaurant has been "upgraded" to La Opera... But the building still looks as it is above...

Cool thread!

ugly or not, the 60s and 70s certainly produced one-of-a-kind designs.

This building looks like its inspired by disco :D

haha.....yea.......architecture sucks big time during those period. well.....we need to be a bit precise here as I wouldn't want this to be turned into another 'ugly architecture' thread......:D

Hitz.Fm catagorize Retro as songs before 2000..some say during the 70's..some say 60's also can..so just consider those built before 80's lor..btw, Sri Bangsar was built in 1978..I forgot the source though! :bash:

I remember visiting my High School English Teacher who lived with her family in one of these low cost flats....boy, *shakes head*...I remember thinking that people should not need to live like this. The flats are super cramped, dirty, maintainence is probably nil and to top it off, crime rates are certainly not low around the area.....sometimes I wonder whether we should place all these low cost flats under some central maintainence authority and thus clean them all up so people have some semblance of dignity.

The other grouse I had was the low pay of teachers....but that's another story....
