This is still a very developing cities the 2 tall buildings were built within the last 10 years
http://bobbehorton.com/pictures/Bridge.jpg

http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/newsimages/2004/4520879_3.jpg

Notice the second building looks smaller in the second picture but is actually larger. This is a very developing city its hard to find the whole skyline in a picture.

GR has some nice skyscrapers, but they are all lined up along the river. It would look much better if they were clustered closer together. Hopefully some of the newer projects will add density downtown. They are supposed to build two new apartment towers, and there is a hotel proposal that I haven't heard anything about in a LONG time.

I love how US-131 does a giant S-curve right next to downtown, its got great views of the city. The river at night is really beautiful too, with all of the arch bridges lit up. Next time I'm up there I'll take some pics.

Its tallest building is the same height as Roanokes tallest. their population is only 97,000 (metro-220,000)

7.0 Hopefully more tall buildings in future. Not THAT bad...

Metrogrkid's history is much appreciated. I look forward to seeing more pics over the years as the metro area continues to develop. The population growth will be astounding. I hope city officials will enhance it's infrastructure to sustain rapid growth while maintaining a good quality of life. Due to the lack of buildings and an underdeveloped skyline, I gave GR a 4.

I never rated this city before because I could never see the pictures. All I ever got were red x's. Now, however, I see a nice city skyline that's pleasingly modern, doesn't overwhelm, and towers modestly above a beautifully dense downtown. The buildings seem to fit together. 7.5

Though all the images here do not portray the entire skyline at once, it is a nice enough representation of GR.

The latest addition to the Grand Rapids skyline -- the JW Marriott:

In stark contrast to Detroit, its big sister to the east, Grand Rapids is dense and vibrant. Buildings are occupied, construction cranes soar, and streets bustle:

Grand Rapids may not have much of a skyline, but it's an extremely heavy hitter in the pre-war department. Chicago meets Cincinnati!
