Batelco, the leading telecommunications company in Bahrain, has unveiled a new, ultra modern brand image.
Batelco chairman Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said that Batelco’s bold new look was ideal for Bahrain today as the Kingdom continues to grow and evolve at a rapid pace.
“This is a very modern new look that encompasses all the integrity, spirit and heart that has evolved over our long history and which is today an integral part of Batelco,” he said.
Batelco chief executive Bahrain Gert Rieder said he was delighted and proud to unveil the new Batelco brand.
“The new identity celebrates Batelco as a Bahraini icon, linking Batelco in colour and with the letter B, to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The powerful, bilingual B transcends all cultures and will stand as a symbol that everyone can identify with and recognise easily,” stated Rieder.
The logo also resembles an infinity sign, further communicating Batelco’s omnipresence throughout Bahrain.”
“Our new insignia reflects our reassurance to our customers, that Batelco is 100 per cent committed to improving their everyday life, every day.”
Batelco’s chairman noted that today, the group serves 4.5 million customers throughout Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and India.
“Although Batelco has expanded beyond its national borders, the company’s future is forever enmeshed with the kingdom’s future. We are committed to doing everything we can to make the Bahrain 2030 National Planning Development Strategy a reality and to supporting the growth of our country for decades to come,” he said. – TradeArabia News Service
is it just me or does it look crap? i know they hired a company to do the rebranding; but is that the best they could come up with?

Wild el Bahrain December 10th, 2009, 06:21 PM I think it suits Batelco perfectly. They both suck...If i could change to another company with my number i would do so in a heartbeat. This is coming from a fmr employer with lots of friends in the company whom i love and a shareholder.I want them to do well but their customer service is soo bad.Batelco hasnt came out of the monopoly midset which is tragic for everyone involved...
Pearl of the Gulf December 10th, 2009, 09:19 PM very true, whats worse is that I think is was much better in the 90's. now its become like a government ministry a headache to deal with.
TheRedofBahrain December 10th, 2009, 09:40 PM I think it looks good, there was nothing wrong with the old one though. In my opinion Qtel is the one that needs rebranding. *no offense to anyone

TheRedofBahrain April 6th, 2010, 06:35 PM Did you guys catch the new advertisements where its says "Our flag will always be above our logo," or something like that...I think its a sly attack at VIVA. In fact, Batelco's whole ad campaign is "patriotic" taking advantage of the fact the its a Bahraini company and VIVA is not.
Ok, I didnt express that thought as poignant as I wanted but I hope you get the point...
B-Patriot April 7th, 2010, 12:23 PM Yep.. Clear enough... WOuld love to see the ad.. Sounds great and 'evil' :)
Adel April 7th, 2010, 04:13 PM Go here

رايات تاتي وتذهب ورايات تبقى للأبد
Some banners come and go and some live forever
لا شعار يعلوا شعار الوطن
No banner is higher than the Bahrain flag
ما تحمله القلوب تحمله الايادي
Hands carry what our hearts carry
That in response to VIVA ads

Some people hate Batelco to death, and call them Fashelco and they don't like the ads.
I think they are good and something new, I like the Bahraini flag too. The girls are pretty and the boys are handsome, they look Bahraini.
Zain put up ads welcoming VIVA, strange when I remember how they attacked their competetors in Kuwait.

B-Patriot April 8th, 2010, 10:56 AM Well, its cool to see them compete.. And see Batelco worry a bit, and try and 'cheat' by playing the patriotic card.. :)
Thanx for the links Adel..
gulfexpress April 9th, 2010, 03:05 PM Well, its cool to see them compete.. And see Batelco worry a bit, and try and 'cheat' by playing the patriotic card.. :)
Thanx for the links Adel..
Indeed. They burnt that card a long time ago with their terrible and overpriced services (same goes to Zain, but everyone knows that both are two sides of the same coin).
I'm very much anti-batelco, so any kick in their "crotch area" by VIVA is welcome by me :)
I mean how much could they have been ripping off if all of a sudden they can afford to roll out a discount of 92% on international calling costs??? 92%!!!
They can try all they want to keep their customer base using misdirected advertisement, but what they fail to understand is what will count is the bill that comes to the customer at the end of the month.
Stupid governmental idiotic mentality seems to still be running strong amidst the halls of Batelco offices.
Viva FTW!!!
B-Patriot April 9th, 2010, 04:16 PM Whats FTW..
Remember the days when simsim was 100 fils per minute.. It was, right? Around the time i got my first mobile, which i worked a whole summer to earn enough money to buy, seeing as my parents were against it :)
gulfexpress April 9th, 2010, 08:06 PM For the win!
indeed it was, thank god those days are long and gone, i couldn't even begin to imagine the bills id be incurring if it stayed at those rates!
