An hour plane ride from Singapore to Langkawi, blessed with beautiful beaches and cheap food.

I went down to Langkawi, Malaysia, to take photos of the RMAF MIG29N and RAAF F-111 that will close shop pretty soon.

I never been to Langkawi air & maritime show. Is it better than Singapore Airshow? I think the former is bigger and more established but i think Singapore Airshow will be bigger next year.

This is my first time going for the LIMA 2009 in Langkawi.

The main problem with Langkawi is the accommodation and there is no public transport except taxi if you don't drive.

The main advantages are cheaper to do it in Malaysia, less restriction on time, airspace and height.

There are more things to do if you're bringing your family as it'll double up as a short holiday with great beaches and other attraction.

The main problem with the Singapore Airshow is that there are too many rules and regulation, height restriction, airspace and time.

Even the Singaporean military personnel are very difficult to deal as you cannot take photos and other restrictions. The Malaysian military side are much more approachable.

I never been to Langkawi air & maritime show. Is it better than Singapore Airshow? I think the former is bigger and more established but i think Singapore Airshow will be bigger next year.
