Who has some great pictures about one of the capitol cities of the EU to show us here ?

Nice pictures, but brussels should really start with building a better and more modern skyline, because this one s*cks ass. the new "galaxy towers are a good beginning I'd say.

What building is this one anyway? looks like about 100m

The new Martini tower also looks nice and the new desing of the Madou tower is simply waaw! It's a great transformation!

**Brussels** rules!! (in Belgium) ;-)

Yeah, that's right but they should build more and higher buildings (i know easier sead then done). I guess the brussels limit is 150m, to low if you ask me. The new martinitower is indeed really nice

Yeah, i once read somewhere that the mayor of Brussels doesn't want highrise anymore (stupid if you ask me because that's the thing what makes Brussels a real big European city) They already demolished the Lotto-tower and I've read instead of that building they want something lower but I don't know what building they will built there.

This mayor (which is indeed the minister-president of the region of Brussels) has left his job some months ago and has been replaced by Jacques Simonet. This explains why the new martini tower (rogier tower) is 144m tall. (greater than the wish of the previous mayor, around 90m). But still lower than the first project (179m).

The lotto tower is not really a waste, it was a bad position for a tower, it's better to concentrate towers around the north station and in the european district, many projects have been recently approved over there.

Here are some pictures of the galaxy towers (I guess they will be finished by now) I really like those buildings, they're the most beautiful modern stuctures in Belgium.

144 meters for the Martini tower? That's great! Comon, 90 meters would be stupid. The new martini tower will look great! What will they built on the place of the Lotto-tower? Also highrise or lowrise?

To Kingsken: Indeed the Galaxy towers are nice and tall but the design is a bit boring if you ask me.

Certainly one of the most!
Galaxy towers will be taken up for the first time on decembre 2004.

Yeah Martini tower is not realy common, I like it !

The lotto-tower will be replaced by this one :
Central Plaza : 54m
http://users.skynet.be/bs605555/skyscrapercity/centralplaza.jpg

An earlier project planed a tower greater than 100m but has been rejected by the previous minister-president.

I think 53 is better than 100m in the centre of the city. a building that tall just doesn't fit there I think. every high tower must be build at the north district.

btw: the centre plaza looks very nice

Central Plaza is U/C , soon I am off to the site to take pictures

Yeah, lowrise fits better there. 54 meters is good and the design is 1000 times better then that of the Lotto Tower.

Keep up the good work BRUSSELS!
