dattebayo December 12th, 2009, 02:39 PM I'd love to see Catholic Churches in Asia. pls post pics C.P Tan December 12th, 2009, 03:44 PM I suggest you to change the title to "Churches in Asia". Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, South Korea, etc have more Protestant than Catholic. Or in other words, there are more Christian churches in those countries. C.P Tan December 12th, 2009, 03:54 PM St. Francis Xavier Church, Malacca, Malaysia http://www.malacca-traveltips.com/pics/st-francis-xaviers-church-3.jpg by Koala Lumpur http://koalalumpur.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/malacca_sfx_church300.jpg?w=300&h=400 by Tom Farnetti http://img3.travelblog.org/Photos/32192/190467/f/1438335-St-Francis-Xavier-Church-Little-India-Melaka-0.jpg wino December 12th, 2009, 06:17 PM This will be filled with Philippine Churches.. LOL how many do we have? tens of thousands?? C.P Tan December 12th, 2009, 09:07 PM ^^ That's why I suggest the creator of this thread to change the title to "Churches in Asia" or else this thread will be filled with Catholic churches from Philippines since Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia. In addition, most of the forumers here are from SEA. They are not familiar with churches from South Korea or other Asian countries with large number of churches so they cannot post the pictures here. The official religion for Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia is Islam while other Indochina countries and Singapore are largely dominated with Buddhist population. There are not many churches in these countries. If you limit it to Catholic churches, that will be lesser. The pipe organ is amazing! since you were impressed by the pipe organ.. i think you'll be more impressed with this The Bamboo Organ of St.Joseph Parish in Las Pinas City, Metro Manila (It is almost entirely made of bamboo) The builder of both the church and its organ was Fr. Diego Cera de la Virgen del Carmen, a priest under the Augustinian Recollects. A native of Spain, he served as parish priest in Las Piñas through many endeavors. Historians portray him as a gifted man-natural scientist, chemist, architect, community leader, organist and organ builder. Fr. I really find the Old Philippine Churches very Romantic, specially the aging look! it's sad some people doesn't appreciate the beauty of it. :D http://visita-iglesia.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/miag-ao.jpg mbokudake December 15th, 2009, 09:31 AM Santa Cruz Church Bangkok, Thailand built by Portuguese descendants in 1770 http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8528/01soa096.jpg (http://img9.imageshack.us/i/01soa096.jpg/) http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/9474/01sxu628.jpg (http://img42.imageshack.us/i/01sxu628.jpg/) http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/7457/01wim893.jpg (http://img696.imageshack.us/i/01wim893.jpg/) http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/6472/01ijn688.jpg (http://img704.imageshack.us/i/01ijn688.jpg/) http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5840/01mjr413.jpg (http://img42.imageshack.us/i/01mjr413.jpg/) http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2519/01krd749.jpg (http://img38.imageshack.us/i/01krd749.jpg/) http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/1692/01xxr966.jpg (http://img704.imageshack.us/i/01xxr966.jpg/) http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/9845/01now418.jpg (http://img683.imageshack.us/i/01now418.jpg/) http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/7206/01snn902.jpg (http://img38.imageshack.us/i/01snn902.jpg/) http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9076/01fmm512.jpg (http://img32.imageshack.us/i/01fmm512.jpg/) C.P Tan December 15th, 2009, 01:02 PM St. Joseph's Cathedral, Hanoi, Vietnam from panoramio http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/7814675.jpg from my opera http://files.myopera.com/lycarem/albums/114795/St.%20Joseph%20Cathedral%20%28ha%20noi%29.jpg http://files.myopera.com/tanclo/albums/923276/stJosephs.jpg http://files.myopera.com/tanclo/albums/923276/stJosephs2.jpg C.P Tan December 15th, 2009, 01:19 PM St Mary's Cathedral, Tokyo, Japan by morio http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/95/20030702_2_July_2003_Tokyo_Cathedorale_1_Tange_Kenzou_Sekiguchi_Tokyo_Japan.jpg/800px-20030702_2_July_2003_Tokyo_Cathedorale_1_Tange_Kenzou_Sekiguchi_Tokyo_Japan.jpg from flickr http://farm1.static.flickr.com/5/7174502_76b10ccf36.jpg from mimimarizm http://www.mimarizm.com/V_Images/2008/Kentin_Tozu/dini_yapilar/kenzotange04.jpg C.P Tan December 15th, 2009, 01:37 PM Cathedral of The Good Shepherd, Singapore from wikimedia View of the steeple from the east end of the cathedral. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c6/Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_5%2C_Jan_06.JPG/450px-Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_5%2C_Jan_06.JPG The steeple atop the east end of the cathedral. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/be/Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_9%2C_Jan_06.JPG/450px-Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_9%2C_Jan_06.JPG Entrance at the south transept. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f0/Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_10%2C_Jan_06.JPG/800px-Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_10%2C_Jan_06.JPG The south side entrance in the form of a diminutive portico. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6d/Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_11%2C_Jan_06.JPG/800px-Cathedral_of_the_Good_Shepherd_11%2C_Jan_06.JPG from photobucket Statue of the Virgin Mary and Glorious Cross on the grounds of the Cathedral. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/rotpics03/cgs2.jpg from panoramio Cathedral at dawn http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/10404456.jpg from flickr Inside the cathedral http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3244/2829132417_c7fc01ce2a.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/116/289455899_68d6f2f81a.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/113/289452831_a36d302669.jpg C.P Tan December 15th, 2009, 03:05 PM Church of the Visitation, Seremban, Malaysia from flickr http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3276/2606562466_bb7be85057.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3420/3180456090_8f64cd934e.jpg from wikimedia http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a9/Seremban-Visitation-feast-3805.jpg/800px-Seremban-Visitation-feast-3805.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1f/Seremban-Visitation-feast-3803.jpg/800px-Seremban-Visitation-feast-3803.jpg by haeliusmagnus http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_MN2qLz-aEbs/Sol4fCmA_1I/AAAAAAAAAXg/VlO-N0eFChE/s400/DSC04006.JPG http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MN2qLz-aEbs/Sol3s2q_m_I/AAAAAAAAAXQ/UWikJUcjOdg/s400/DSC04003.JPG http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MN2qLz-aEbs/Sol3ssVYIoI/AAAAAAAAAXI/EFF_39T0mBI/s400/DSC04001.JPG C.P Tan December 16th, 2009, 11:29 AM St. Ignatius Cathedral a.k.a. Earlier reports of an arson attack proved to be unfounded. This is the first reported attack in East Malaysia where a large part of the population are Christians who worship in Bahasa Malaysia and also the ruling Barisan Nasional’s “fixed deposit” of votes and parliamentary seats in Election 2008. Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein confirmed the attempt but insisted the situation in the country is under control. “The situation is under control and the people should not be worried. They should not be influenced by internet reports or text messages,” he told reporters at an Umno event here. Four churches in the Klang Valley were hit by petrol bombs on Friday while one was hit last night in Taiping. A Malacca church reported it was splashed with black paint while a priest in Penang had his car splashed with red paint. A convent school in Taiping was also the target of an attempt with petrol bombs found near its guardhouse overnight. Church authorities believe it was meant for the St Louis Church next door. Hishammuddin reminded the people not to be influenced by foreign and internet media reports as these could be inaccurate and project the country as unstable. He said the ministry would brief foreign envoys on the actual situation “We have to brief the international community as we have our citizens out there who want to know the actual situation which has been played up by certain quarters, including what is taken from the Internet,” he said. Hishammuddin said the government will give an accurate picture of what has happened in the spate of church attacks. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/49125-miri-church-attack-makes-it-7- Miri is a city in Sarawak state, Malaysian Borneo. Metro Tabernacle AOG Church in Desa Melawati, a suburb in KL. from international forum Word "Allah" predates Islam. Various christian minorities in predominantly muslim countries call their god Allah. And have done so for a very long time. Nothing strange about it when muslim religion is so deeply entrenched into the general culture in places. Not only that both of these religions are "religions of the book" . So technically both the christian god and muslim god are the same one. So some people would be happy if people started using a different word for "god" altogether from the various religions and or languages which must exist in the area? KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 — The primarily East Malaysian Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) church in Seremban, Negri Sembilan was attacked today with a firebomb, leaving scorch marks on its front doors. The attack did not affect the church interior and was believed to have occurred early this morning. Rasah member of Parliament, Loke Siew Fook visited the church soon after and confirmed the incident. “The worship hall was not affected, the attack only affected the front door,” Loke told The Malaysian Insider. Meanwhile, Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Osman Salleh said a report has been lodged, but refused to provide any details. “I can’t confirm anything at this moment,” he said when contacted. The first church attack took place on Friday, amid dispute over the use of the word “Allah” by the Catholic Church’s Herald to refer to God in the Malay language. The SIB church conducts it service regularly in the national language. Both the government and opposition have moved to defuse tension, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announcing financial aid of RM500,000 for the worst hit church — the Metro Tabernacle. Separately, opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a dialogue with the Christian community yesterday. http://themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/49181-eighth-church-attack-in-seremban Only Malaysia got problem with Allah matter. Of course there are still many conflicts between Muslims and Christians here, but not caused by using "Allah" word I even heard that Bible which is printed in Indonesia (by Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia / Indonesia Biblical Association) are banned in Malaysia because it's using the word "Allah" ^^ not just used the word "Allah", it banned bcoz they using the Malay language. I was heard the churches prayer n ceremony can't using Malay language. :bash: CMIIW. we are Indonesian Christian using "Allah" with easy here even the name of our church is using it world too.. like Gereja (Church) Sidang Jemaat Allah, Gereja Allah Al-Masehi, Gereja Allah Pengasih n of course it using Bahasa Indonesia (not much different to Malaysia languange), n also in our prayer n Bible (Alkitab). RonnieR January 12th, 2010, 10:15 AM Malaysian Christians stand firm on use of 'Allah' (philstar.com) Updated January 12, 2010 03:33 PM KUALA LUMPUR (AP) – Christian leaders in Malaysia refused Tuesday to stop using the word "Allah" for God despite attacks on churches in a religious crisis that has raised concerns about the erosion of minority rights in the Muslim-majority country. Daniel Raut, a senior leader of the Borneo Evangelical Church — the largest Malay-speaking congregation in the country — said it will not drop the use of the word "Allah," even though Christians fear for their safety. "Since our forefathers become Christians in the 1920s, we have been using Allah even in our mother tongue," said Raut, who is from the Lumbawang tribe in eastern Sarawak state. "We are quite fearful (for our safety) but we will pray for protection and believe God will intervene in this matter." Nine churches have been attacked since Friday, with the assailants using firebombs and in one case, paint. The unprecedented attacks have strained ties between Christians and the majority Malay Muslims, denting Malaysia's image as a moderate Muslim-majority nation. The attacks were triggered by a Dec. 31 High Court decision that overturned a government ban on the use of "Allah" by Roman Catholics in the Malay-language edition of their main newspaper, the Herald. The ban and the ruling also apply to Malay-language Bibles, 10,000 copies of which were recently seized by authorities because they translated God as Allah. The government has condemned the attacks as the work of extremists, but also has appealed the ruling. Jamil Khir Baharom, the Cabinet minister responsible for Islamic affairs, called on Christian leaders to drop the use of "Allah" to help ease tensions. About 9 percent of Malaysia's 28 million people are Christian, most of whom are indigenous tribespeople in the remote Sabah and Sarawak states on Borneo island. Muslims make up 60 percent of the population and most are ethnic Malays. Raut was in court early Tuesday to support church member Jill Ireland, who sued the government in 2008 after airport authorities seized eight of her Christian compact discs with the word "Allah" printed on them. The trial is set for March 15. The Borneo church also sued the government in 2007 after custom officials seized six cartons of Christian literature containing the word "Allah." The Borneo church was formed in Sarawak state in 1928, nearly 30 years before Malaysia's independence, but has since expanded nationwide and has some 250,000 members, a majority of them who use Allah in their worship and literature. Alfred Tais, who heads the Malay language section of the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship Malaysia, said there are at least 300 churches in peninsular Malaysia and hundreds more on Borneo that worship in the Malay language using "Allah." "We won't hold any protests. Our response is to pray for peace. We have mobilized all our members to pray that God will give our leaders wisdom to find a solution to this problem," he said. The Allah ban is unusual in the Muslim world. The Arabic word is commonly used by Christians to describe God in such countries as Egypt, Syria and Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim nation. K14N January 12th, 2010, 12:13 PM Is this confirmed? If Malaysia will ban the use of Malay language in churches, this is too much and will have a world condemnation. So, they expect that Malay will not be spoken by Christians/Catholics in Malaysia??? I don't really know what the reason is... But there in Malaysia the country even make a regulation that whoever ethnically Malay should be Islam and they can't convert to other religion or they may sentenced to death :ohno: Maybe that's the reason why they ban the use of Malay language. First, because there are no ethnic Malay who are Christians, why not using Chinese, English, or Indian languages? Second and most important reason, I think they afraid that the use of Malay language will ease the evangelism or Christianization toward ethnic Malay... The San Agustín Church lies inside the walled city of Intramuros located in the capital city Manila. An example of the revival of Gothic architecture in the Philippines, it is the only all-steel church or basilica in Asia. It has also been implausibly reputed to be the first prefabricated building in the world, and more plausibly claimed as the only prefabricated steel church in the world. It was designated as a National Historical Landmark by the Philippine government in 1973. The great honor imposed a greater responsibility, for the parish must lead in spreading the urgent message exhorted by Our Lady in 1917. This was a signal honor to the parish, a strong moral booster to a community faced with such a herculean challenge, but with its own corresponding responsibility for it bestowed on the young parish the task of leading the promotion of the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. Tourist Site and Pilgrim Church Due to the increasing prestige of the National Shrine during that time, on April 24, 1982 and December 10, 1982, Tourism Minister Jose D. Aspiras declared it as a Pilgrim Church and Tourist Site, respectively. During the Jubilee Year celebration in 2000 and the Year of the Holy Rosary in 2002 to 2003, the National Shrine was among the designated pilgrim churches in the Diocese of Malolos. It also hosted several diocesan Marian celebrations such as the Diocesan Marian Pilgrimage on May 13, 2006, a Marian Year and on the dawn of January 5, 2008 which gathered thousands of Marian devotees in the diocese and around the country Center of the Devotion to Our Lady of Fatima in the Philippines The World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF) National Center is also located at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. This organization is a Public International Association of the Faithful of Pontifical Right established by the Holy See on October 7, 2005. It is also a movement of the Church with millions of members all around the world who follow the requests made by Our Lady to the three children in 1917. In 1989, the delegates to the national convention of the WAF held in Cebu City unanimously approved the transfer of the National Center of the WAF to the National Shrine. Its affiliate organizations are the Youth Apostolate of Fatima (YAF) and Children Apostolate of Fatima (CAF). Home of the National Pilgrim Image (NPI) of Our Lady of Fatima The National Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima is one of the original statues blessed by Pope Paul VI and was later brought to the Philippines and crowned as the National Pilgrim Image during the launching of the National Marian Year in December 1984. It was subsequently entrusted to Bahay Maria for care and protection until it was permanently handed to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima on October 17, 1999. The Pilgrim Image was the forefront of the “EDSA People Power Revolution” in 1986 where Our Lady, through the image, showed her maternal protection to our people. This is the reason why the image of Our Lady of Fatima is considered as the universal image of peace. During the solemn rites of her turn-over to the National Shrine, the signing of an “Agreement for Acceptance of Responsibility for Care and Protection” was also made. Since then, the image has been a witness of numerous note-worthy events which shaped the history of the Church and the society. Almost five decades since its establishment, people from different parishes and even dioceses continue to come, in leaps and bounds, to feel the solace, find comfort and direction, and experience peace as they pray, celebrate, and serve God. The National Shrine will never be what it is today, a Shrine of Peace, if not through that generous efforts and services rendered by many people in the past years. This community prays that the Lord Jesus Christ, through Our Lady of Fatima, will continue to transform this piece of land as a mirror of His face, of compassion, piety, and love, together with the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother and companion in our journey. crossboneka March 25th, 2010, 02:33 AM Malate Church is a church in Manila, Philippines. Kakure Kirishitan (隠れキリシタン?, Japanese for "Hidden Christian") is a modern term for a member of the Japanese Catholic Church that went underground after the Shimabara Rebellion in the 1630s. Kakure Kirishitans are called the "hidden" Christians because they continued to practice Christianity in secret. They worshipped in secret rooms in private homes. As time went on, the figures of the saints and the Virgin Mary were transformed into figurines that looked like the traditional statues of the Buddha and bodhisattvas. The prayers were adapted to sound like Buddhist chant, yet retained many untranslated words from Latin, Portuguese and Spanish. The Bible was passed down orally, due to fears of printed works being confiscated by authorities. Because of the expulsion of the Catholic clergy in the 17th century, the Kakure Christian community relied on lay leaders to lead the services. In some cases, the communities drifted away from Christian teachings. They lost the meaning of the prayers and their religion became a version of the cult of ancestors, in which the ancestors happened to be their Christian martyrs. Many secret Christians, some of whom had adopted these new ways of practicing Christianity, came out of hiding when religious freedom was re-established in the mid-19th century and rejoined the Catholic Church after renouncing their unorthodox, syncretic practices. However, there were those who decided not to rejoin. They are known as the Hanare Kirishitan (離れキリシタン, separated Christians). Modern extinction of Hanare KirishitansFollowing the legalization of Christianity and secularization of Japan, many Hanare Kirishitan lineages ended abruptly. Traditionally, boys learned the rituals and prayers from their fathers; when boys were uninterested or moved away from the homes, there would be no one left to continue the lineage. For a while, Hanare Kirishitans were thought to have died out entirely, due to their tradition of secrecy. A group on Ikitsuki Island in Nagasaki prefecture, which had been overlooked by the Japanese government during the time of persecution, made their practices public in the 1980s and now perform them for audiences; however, these practices have acquired some attributes of theater, such as the telling of folktales and the use of statues and other images which most underground Christians had never created. The anthropologist Christal Whelan uncovered the existence of genuine Hanare Kirishitans on the Gotō Islands where Kakure Kirishitans had once fled. There were only two surviving priests on the islands, both of whom were over 90, and they would not talk to each other. The few surviving laity had also all reached old age, and some of them no longer had any priests from their lineage and prayed alone. Although these Hanare Kirishitans had a strong tradition of secrecy, they agreed to be filmed for her documentary Otaiya. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakure_Kirishitan cave of Hidden Christians http://sansin.air-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2009/08/29/090828blog_2.jpg Balaputradewa February 26th, 2011, 06:02 AM Gereja Katolik Moni Ende, Indonesia http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2619/moniw.jpg (http://img51.imageshack.us/i/moniw.jpg/) http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/4666/moni4.jpg (http://img546.imageshack.us/i/moni4.jpg/) http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5237/moni2.jpg (http://img831.imageshack.us/i/moni2.jpg/) http://img573.imageshack.us/img573/8628/moni3.jpg (http://img573.imageshack.us/i/moni3.jpg/) Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us) frio February 27th, 2011, 01:08 AM Gereja Katolik Moni Ende, Indonesia http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2619/moniw.jpg (http://img51.imageshack.us/i/moniw.jpg/) http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/4666/moni4.jpg (http://img546.imageshack.us/i/moni4.jpg/) http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/5237/moni2.jpg (http://img831.imageshack.us/i/moni2.jpg/) http://img573.imageshack.us/img573/8628/moni3.jpg (http://img573.imageshack.us/i/moni3.jpg/) Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us) I wouldn't have thought it's a catholic church if i hadn't seen the crucifix! feels like fusion... nice one! C.P Tan February 28th, 2011, 08:51 PM Mount Hosanna Chapel, Sri Aman, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo http://picasaweb.google.com/blackcharcoal4/MountHosannaChapelSriAman#5265759840087666290 http://lh5.ggpht.com/_IWxgi_gjCdk/SRO8rOTxbnI/AAAAAAAAEXE/aqSIq-96irU/DSCN7098.JPG http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=25717534&postcount=372 http://byfiles.storage.live.com/y1p6aaIGF5Ilzk4S1P_mvL8FUO5ueIYNHMT0cPRfV4Izx1moghD6Upefg http://lh6.ggpht.com/_IWxgi_gjCdk/SRO8qo7Iu6I/AAAAAAAAEW8/ACMn0Kd5LF4/DSCN7094.JPG http://jersielow.blogspot.com/2009/05/mount-hosanna-sri-aman.html http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Y5gMMguZr_w/SgB2g_q3R_I/AAAAAAAAAg8/uIivBy0V6q8/s320/19042009135.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Y5gMMguZr_w/SgB2nDYzFPI/AAAAAAAAAhE/LemfcLY4jHQ/s320/19042009136.jpg bu nainetphotography http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BcfWUnUn_-M/SksiY0Blo3I/AAAAAAAABOM/IfsOyf4qx9k/s400/_DSC4377copy.jpg iron_yuppy March 1st, 2011, 08:29 AM ^^ Interesting facade, looks like a white crayon and also a silo. skyion March 1st, 2011, 08:58 AM San Pedro Cathedral in DAVAO CITY south of Philippines, a Catholic church with design inspired by a bishop's mitre (headgear) and Muslim architecture to reflect the city's diverse mix of residents Christian, Muslim as well as Indigenous peoples: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q14/uyraffy/Davao%20Suroy%20Photo/DVOSuroySP.jpg courtesy of uyraffy (http://media.photobucket.com/image/san%20pedro%20cathedral/uyraffy/Davao%20Suroy%20Photo/DVOSuroySP.jpg?o=9) Balaputradewa March 16th, 2011, 02:30 PM Gereja Katedral Santo Yosef Ruteng, Indonesia http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/6497/katedralruteng.jpg (http://img705.imageshack.us/i/katedralruteng.jpg/) http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/1892/katedralruteng2.jpg (http://img638.imageshack.us/i/katedralruteng2.jpg/) http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/1719/katedarlruteng3.jpg (http://img825.imageshack.us/i/katedarlruteng3.jpg/) Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us) Rodel March 19th, 2011, 11:15 PM a church accross the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Manila http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h315/req2000/Churches%20in%20the%20Philippines/100_2646.jpg vungtaupeople May 9th, 2011, 03:34 PM Church of Saint Jacobe , Vungtau City,Vietnam http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0301.jpg?t=1304862958 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0286.jpg?t=1304862989 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0287.jpg?t=1304863016 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0297.jpg?t=1304863163 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0290.jpg?t=1304863039 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0112-2.jpg?t=1304864435 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0120-1.jpg?t=1304863070 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0127-1.jpg?t=1304863106 http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g410/gbhoangdung/IMG_0131-1.jpg?t=1304863140 My photos vungtaupeople May 9th, 2011, 03:39 PM Cat Xuyen Church, Nam Đinh, Vietnam Nhà thờ chánh xứ Cát Xuyên - The particular architecture of the cathedral is its large doors without partitions. The verandah of the Cathedral is largely designed in order to make who ever stay in the verandah, feel that they were in the interior of the church. Beyond the verandah, there is a small room to maintain remains of dead Christian?s ashes in small earthenware for worshipping (with burning incense stick). http://farm1.static.flickr.com/105/316404103_8de86312dc_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4024/4584052967_a292513739_b.jpg huevietnam May 10th, 2011, 02:51 AM http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2659/4117466161_5b8576733a_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2743/4118238114_fd8dab4fec_b.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/tfruechtenicht/4117466161/sizes/l/in/photostream/ huevietnam May 10th, 2011, 02:53 AM http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2680/4117455629_62a53059a2_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2606/4118222232_34c66b200a_b.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/tfruechtenicht/4118222232/sizes/l/in/photostream/ huevietnam May 10th, 2011, 02:54 AM photos updating, my photos http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee384/hueskyline/Vietnam2011339.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee384/hueskyline/Vietnam2011340.jpg huevietnam May 10th, 2011, 02:55 AM http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee384/hueskyline/Vietnam2011343.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee384/hueskyline/Vietnam2011344.jpg huevietnam May 10th, 2011, 02:56 AM vote this church: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1160389&page=2 http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee384/hueskyline/Vietnam2011342.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee384/hueskyline/DSC_0070.jpg up_mc May 12th, 2011, 07:20 AM Miag-ao Church Iloilo Exterior http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5223/5692407207_b4a06a17af_b.jpg Interior http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5021/5634598190_31ba417c76_b.jpg charming.namdinh June 18th, 2011, 01:56 PM Phu Nhai Basilica Address: Xuan Truong District - Nam Dinh Province - Vietnam http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/9128/5247152666b18db3a413b.jpg http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4056/52471533606209e94889b.jpg http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/1924/5247154488bd414f01c6b.jpg http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/3489/524715556694ca8f99b6b.jpg http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/531/5247159650508a89465bb.jpg http://img863.imageshack.us/img863/4519/52471605968b86901086b.jpg http://www.dulichnamdinh.com.vn charming.namdinh June 18th, 2011, 02:11 PM Khoai Dong Church Address: 127 Le Hong Phong Street, Nam Dinh City, Vietnam http://cC9.upanh.com/23.819.30884708.Usl0/untitled.jpg (Photo by Nam Dinh Photofun) RyukyuRhymer June 18th, 2011, 09:28 PM Oura Catholic Church in Nagasaki, Japan the oldest Catholic Church in Japan http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3510/3989014248_bb5e684851_b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/43267400@N03/3989014248/) Oura Catholic Church - Nagasaki, Japan (http://www.flickr.com/photos/43267400@N03/3989014248/) by Amiayra (http://www.flickr.com/people/43267400@N03/), on Flickr http://farm1.static.flickr.com/39/118052965_ce56fdab23_z.jpg?zz=1 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tin-zo/118052965/) Oura Catholic Church (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tin-zo/118052965/) by tin-zo (http://www.flickr.com/people/tin-zo/), on Flickr Erran June 20th, 2011, 02:17 PM Cathedral, Jakarta http://lh3.ggpht.com/_-tAA2rB24ec/TL2OdI7dRzI/AAAAAAAAAQE/rybhqEgbO8s/IMG_3128B.jpg source (http://lh3.ggpht.com/_-tAA2rB24ec/TL2OdI7dRzI/AAAAAAAAAQE/rybhqEgbO8s/IMG_3128B.jpg) vanthuc ha June 26th, 2011, 09:03 PM giaylatcuatoi.blogspot.com (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/giaylatcuatoi.blogspot.com)http://www.skyscrapercity.com/giaylatcuatoi.blogspot.com vanthuc ha June 26th, 2011, 11:59 PM Nhà thờ ở Việt Nam đẹp tuyệt vời! Named after Saint Peter, the patron saint, it was said to be built in 1847 by Don Jose Oyanguren, the Spanish conquistador who later become the first governor of Davao region. The church’s old altar is still preserved at the right wing where old statues of saints are placed. This is also where the bell tower stands, along with other notable sculptures outside (Blessed Virgin Mary, Ten Commandments and Pieta statues). The cathedral was rebuilt in the 70s by renowned Architect Manuel Chiew and its façade or dome is said to be inspired by Noah’s Ark.
