Here are pictures of the newly built "New Preedy Street". They had to relocate 1385 Houses and shops to Mehmoodabad to make way for this development. I was coming from M.A. Jinnah road and turned right at Jinnah's Mausoleum and went straight then turned left at Preedy street went around the roundabout and then started from the beginning of the street all the way to the end. It was lying in the doldrums for decades but now its finally finished and it was a pleasure to drive on. It makes travelling to the heart of Saddar totally painless and extremely fast. Now if they could just do something about all the jaywalkers.

That's a great road. Thanks for the pics Booga. They have made overhead bridges as well for the pedestrians, and I saw 1 is under construction. It's good to see that our government has started to think like that. Now let's hope people start to realize that they are for their own good.

And yeah, walking in the middle of the road is the big problem with Pakistanis, even when there are decent sidewalks. The typical attitude when questioned about it is "teray baap ki sarak hai kya?". It's this sort of attitude that the cause of some of the problems in Pakistan. No, it's not my fathers street. But is it your fathers street, as you seem to be implying by the way you're using it?

The only time they all use sidewalks is if the road is extremely busy, such as Sharah-e-faisal.

Actually there is. This was a monumental project, 1385 houses and shops had to be moved to make this vital piece of infrastructure, it was delayed for decades but now getting to the heart of Saddar takes minutes. Its just awesome.
