I don't know about this tower. It's ok height wise but i don't like the black and pink colour of the glass. I think it's super tacky, just like the other Al Attar (gold and Green) tower. Well, i just hope it'll be another one of those "looks better when built" projects.

Personally I find this tower not too attractive simply because of its thinness... Dubai skyscrapers have the height... now all they need to do is get some width !!

yes, i have contacted dimensions consultants, the consultants for k2 tower and the 255m atkins sharjah tower that was proposed for the marina (latefa tower, view uae projects!)

they sent me a message that latefa tower will be the uae's 7th tallest and they even have made a diagram of drawings. among the top 10 also are bright start and khalid al attar! :D so they needed the heights and contacted the atkins and other companies to rank their latefa tower!

they also added the diagram to their homepage yesterday

This has nothing to do with Khalid al atar tower but on my bike ride I saw a bunch of new boarding put up beside the greens appartments on SZR, i was too far away from the road to see the details but they are towerd and there about 3 (other than golf towers)

it still has the name khalid al attar tower
this will be the fourth or more likely the name will change soon

most towers are designed under the owners name and them "christened" once they are U/C or have been sold on to another owner. I have found many examples of this such as Al Rostamani tower in the Marina which became marina one etc

Ive been waiting for this one to rise for a long time now. It's gonna be one of the better looking towers of SZR.

there will be 3 know 200m+ towers in Chelsea/park place and khalid al attar and deffinatly a few more around the API /Fairmont as I have seen the proposals for one of the sites and there are some big towers planned there

would have wondered if it was different...

260 is nothing really , it will be lost amongst the SZR towers , unless it gets a kick ass facade !

maybe this is the start of the crash, if that happens expect a few 100 of similar towers around Dubai. We have all seen these in sites that lay dormit here in Sydney and parts of Asia after the last property crash.

They'd better finish it, no matter what. If they reduce the height then that's fine but don't leave an U/C tower like they did in Romania after the fall of communism (I was there and there were loads of blocks of flats left unfinished) :(

The economy is to healthy for a decline.

The tourists coming, the oil is expensive, the trade grows.





What sucks the most is that this tower is so tall. If the building would be only 100m tall i wouldn`t care.

Well i don't think one tower shows that the decline begun,especially if you consider some people are only just discovering dubai and 1st ever large dubai property show in london this weekend.

More then likely even the pesamistic speculator would say the decline will hit once there are more properties completed on the market then there is a demand for. and even then it won't be a decline more a evening out of the real estate price...which would then lead to a mature market.

My prediction for this would be at the earliest the end of 2007 and the start of 2008.
