SA BOY
July 25th, 2004, 10:01 AM
not a fan of red buildings

Trances
July 25th, 2004, 10:05 AM
i know thats why i said it
does this fear of red trace back to some childhood event ?

SA BOY
July 25th, 2004, 10:45 AM
na, I just dont think red should be used in buildings. Its not a cool colour ,which should be used in dubai more. I actually think this building is very kitch like the Al Attar tower across the road from it. Im more into the classical minamalist architecture of Pelli /foster etc

it shouldnt have been built next to the good looking, tall modern white tower next door..

Bahraini Spirit
October 28th, 2005, 08:41 PM
Thank God they didn't build this in Bahrain, they wouldn't allow it, no way. Mind you for those ppl who don't know who Sheikh Essa is, well he's the late amir of Bahrain and it's a Bahraini investor :D.

Wasn't this one built before the Chelsea? That i s the one that you're refering to, right?

And I didn't know they had applebee's in Dubai, that is pretty cool, but i thought that SZR would have more upsclale restaurants than that.

Why does Dubai allow such buildings, not a good strategy. Besides the name, the design is hahah oh well, why, I'd rather not have a building rather than it bein an eyesore.

it's also funny that almost every high-rise in dubai has a helipad on the roof although using helicopters in the city is prohibited
one day another building is goint to rise next to this one and it's most likely going to b taller

tell me any pilot who will be able to land between chelsea and the future tower next to sheikh essa?

that also means, people sitting on the balconies will be blown away :D

That's so funny.....
Helipads with no helicopters to land on?
Or making provisions?

Why are helicopters prohibited btw? :?

Wow, I hate this tower, it is SO ugly!!
I heared it will be sandwitched between the Chelsea Tower and a 300+ meters Meredian.
