Ouwh! A spinorrrf!

I'm looking forward to tonight's screening, even just to realise Donald Trump in a reality program. Who would have thought? Seems like the mega-rich can afford to take the time out for a few laffs. Hi Paris!!

If the spinorrrf goes ahead, I just hope it doesn't concentrate on the personalities too much and we get to see some of the scraper building process. Who am I kiddin'? (Gosh, I really don't care anymore who dislikes who, and who will do or say 'what' next.)

LOL @ the white ski-mask rings around the eyes. When not skiing in Switzerland, he makes reality!

Donald do you want an Australian with green card for this job? I will put myself up for it! I'd get fired within the week most likely hahaha.

Fights with the architects and construction companies over reflectivity and height would no doubt be contentious.

yep, very late, as late as we get The Amazing Race ( ie the winner already revealed ) but i think they had to wait for survivor to finish up so that they can concentrate on this beauty.

Its very entertaining, never a dull moment, i think ive found my favourite show.

It is an amazing show, I was hooked on it when it was on, definetely the favorite.

First screening last night.

BTW I would hardly call 9.30PM on Tuesdays late unless you have to go to primary school the next day ;) I count that as prime viewing.

But yes, entertaining, not dull and a new fave.

I think Trump's charm has a lot to do with it. He certainly has used his charm along with other things, to do was well as he has.

With the internet, you can find out who the winner was anyway.

Not exactly with this show.

The finale was live and no one knew who the winner was going to be but Trump himself.

After watching the show, you'll start liking Trump more and more, he's a very likeable guy it seems like.

Keep an eye out for Sam all, lol!

He's hilarious! Especially in the lemonade stand episode which isn't too far away.

Over here when it aired, it was at 9-10 PM.

Yeah, Trump certainly has charisma.

I thought he was going to be really mean in firing, but he wasn't at all. A pleasant surprise.

He was even lenient with Sam who already comes across as a "goofball".

Hey, but if the winner has already been revealed in the U.S., it would be on the internet easily for Australian audiences. Just enter into your search engines.

In Australia, it's on free-to-air.

Ok, think about it.

Similarities:
Both have 16 contestants
Both have a Tribal Council/Boardroom
Both have Tribes/Corporations
Both have reward and "immunity" challenges
Both face a panel/tribe where they state their case and then get voted off/fired
Both have fantastic productions values, and look way better than any other reality shows.

The only big differences I see, is that in The Apprentice, contestants don't have to fight the elements (maybe they do, but I've only seen 1 episode), and they all live together.

I couldn't believe the lack of interior design quality in Trump's apartment! It was revolting! How gaudy and garish can you get?!?! :puke:

Proves the point that money does not buy taste. The reaction of the female team when they got to go up and visit could have only been an attempt to suck up to Donald and his girlfriend, or to provide the show with some dramatic effect. :|

I think everybody knows that hes Exec Producer. This show was heavily promoted during survivor time slots, banners during survivor, the works. Lucky here the shows are on the same net work where as US viewers will have to quicky switch from CBS to NBC if theyre survivor/apprentice fans.

I am hooked on this show - I don't even care the winner is already known - it's just really interesting to see these people try on these tasks and then go into the boardroom - plus the gratuitous shots of Manhatten don't hurt either!

Sam is so far my favourite - the first episode all I could think was that he must masturbate to his Donald Trump poster on his wall, but the more I see him the more I think that he embodies the entreprenuerial spirit of America - asking some guy to pay $1000 for a lemonade is what I'm talking about.

BTW - they idn't have to describe those Airplane photos as "Testicle Shots" you could tell what they were from the get go - goes 2 show Women have way dirtier minds than men! "How do you measure up" - LOL!

See what the Apprentice does? It makes us sport Trump avatars! :D

The theme song is "For the love of money" by the O'Jays, I can't seem to find it anywhere online though.

Sam asking that guy to pay $1000 for a cup of lemonade...lol, did you see how the guy was looking at him?

You love the show already? Just wait, you haven't seen nothing yet! It gets better and better every week. Especially with all the Omarosa drama!

On one episode they go up to the top 90th floor penthouse of Trump World Tower, you could only imagine the views! ;)

Speaking of views, this show provides the best shots of NYC on TV ever. :D

I just love all the aerials and street scenes of NYC alike - great stuff.

This thread dead!?! Not at all.

I think we're just half way. Tammy got the boot last Monday evening (It was moved from Tuesday evenings to Mondays').

Tammy was the "embaressing question" one - like when they went to (was it Yankee?) a baseball stadium to meet the the big-wig (and I don't mean Donald Trump's hair) there and he was waring an enormous ring - about 2 episodes beforehand.

Tammy pointed to his ring, said and asked "Wow, that's some serious bling-bling. Where did you get it?" The others in her team looked embaressed, I felt embaressed for them, more so for her, and The Don standing near just smiled graciously. That gal has to learn some tact lol.

Yeah, I thought Tammy was tactless as anything a couple of weeks ago when they were organising the celebrity auctions, and instead of asking Carson Daly if he could think of something related to his industry (i.e. Music/MTV), she started pushing him to organise a golf day with Tiger Woods!

It's like, thanks for donating your time and celebrity status for charity, but we're not interested in you - however, we've heard you know Tiger Woods and we think we could get more money if you'd play golf with him and the buyer for a day! How LAME. Glad she's gone! :)

Muse
June 17th, 2004, 10:12 PM
Yeah, lame....gone - totally.

I saw the Carson Daly "incident".

Tammy also did it with Regis Philbun. He was so patient while she prattled on with something he was obviously not interested in early on in the piece. The inpracticality of sending a busy man o.s. for a 2 day stay. By the end, you could tell by his tone that he thought she was a major joke. She was completely on a different wave-length to him and her team-mates.

Could you imagine Tammy and Sam running a business as partners; Rent-A-Clown for childrens' parties perhaps? Tammy was the epitome of being clueless.

...

Jimmy James
June 18th, 2004, 01:22 PM
Good to see that Tammy was axed, she made me squirm with the way she treated Carson Daly, and Regis Philbin looked genuinely pissed off as a result of this!

Ch 9 seems to be promoting Monday's as the BEST BOARDROOM EVER! (Think Comic Book Guy!) so maybe this is the one that Omarosa bites it!

Dunno 'bout you guys, but I knd of like Amarosa when she is not grand-standing and being something she thinks she "has to be". You can see she definitely has the know-how - she just often channels her energies in the wrong directions.

When Amarosa is being cool and wearing funky clothes and hats being interviewed, that's when you see this one at her @ her most natural self.

It's not so important that The Don says it is all about business thinking that he is making us believe it is not personal. Part of doing good business is how you perceive others on a personal level. Donald Trump is a very personable man (he can afford to be so lol). Of course he looks at how people repsond to each other and the implications.

In Amarosa's case she will get the chop because she is rude to people and The Don has already voiced this. Equally you can't be rude to subordinates and peers as you can't be to superiors. A subordinate may be YOUR superior one day & they may have a long memeory :D

Trump: I Almost Wasn't Hired For 'The Apprentice'
By Paul J. Gough
Staff Writer
Friday, June 25, 2004

Before "The Apprentice" began last January, Donald Trump had one fear: Failure.

Trump has had a long history of success in real estate, casino building, and even as his own brand. But as he told a standing-room-only crowd at the PROMAX&BDA conference in New York Thursday afternoon, he didn't necessarily know what he was getting into when he signed on to the Mark Burnett-produced reality show. His friends, more savvy to the ways of television than the real estate magnate, asked him if he realized that most television shows don't last the first season.

"Honestly, I didn't want to fail. I didn't want a loser," Trump said. "I hated hearing about the failure rate [of new shows], the loss rate."

He recalled how he attended the NBC upfront two years ago as new shows starring Whoopi Goldberg and Rob Lowe were introduced for the fall schedule.

"They're all gone now," Trump said. He didn't want to get a call from Jeff Zucker telling him that his show was canceled and, before an appearance on "Saturday Night Live," relayed that to SNL producer Lorne Michaels.

"Lorne said, 'No, Donald, they won't ever call'" when you're canceled, Trump said.

Not that it would have mattered, since "The Apprentice" was one of the top shows of last television season, and a key building block to NBC's future without "Friends." Trump, who also professed to know little about television, seemed to question several of the strategies that helped "The Apprentice" hit it big. Trump said many of his friends didn't catch "The Apprentice" when it was first run on Thursdays but on various reruns scheduled during the week, including multiple airings on CNBC over the weekend.

He also wondered about NBC's plans to broadcast a "director's cut" of next year's "The Apprentice" on Saturday night, including more of the boardroom scene that normally gets left on the cutting-room floor --and more, of course, of Trump.

"I'm not sure I agree with that, either," Trump said.

"The Apprentice" returns to NBC next season, with two runs beginning in the fall. The number of contestants has been increased from 16 to 18, and on Thursday afternoon he said the second run of the reality series is "far better" than the first earlier this year. He said the quality of the candidates is stronger this year and the tasks are more difficult, involving a number of unspecified but big corporations.

"In the first one, we sold lemonade and crap like that," Trump said to laughs from the crowd. "I'm not knocking lemonade. It did very well." But he said the show's success the first time around made it easier to make deals with companies for product integration, including a soft-drink maker.

"If we had called these companies for 'Apprentice I,' they would have laughed at us," Trump said.

Vince Manze, whose job at the NBC Agency involved promoting the show, said there were more product placements this time around.

"The product integrations in these types of shows are a natural," Manze said.

In a question from an audience member, Trump said that he was aware of other mogul-type shows on other networks, including Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's show on ABC and Virgin founder Richard Branson's program planned for Fox. He said the politically correct thing to say would be that he wishes them well.

"But the truth is, I hope they bomb," he said. He later amended that to hoping the rival shows do well but not too well--"but I don't think they will."

Muse
June 26th, 2004, 09:17 AM
That's all we fuckin' need - more product placement!

Quote: "The product integrations in these types of shows are a natural," Manze said.

.....for who? Dipwit justifying his position @ NBC. Fuckin' tool.

Anyway, it's nice to know that The Don is human. Kinda comforting. OMG Paul Gogh, Donald actually has fears!?! Hold me up!

Erika truned out to be from cutey-pie to a real areshole. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I think Rene Rivkin wouldn't be too bad either. That is, after he gets out of his 'periodic detension.' The Boardroom could be on his yacht. They could go to a different part of Sydney Harbour each week. Manly, Kiribilli, Darling Harbour, Homebush, Watsons Bay, Wooloomoloo Bay, McMahon's Point, Parramatta.

The challenges, commit insider trading and get the lowest fine or jail sentance.

can't believe this thread hasn't been revived for the new series of the apprentice! Just as good as the first!

It would probably be up to its fifth episode now - 2 episodes back to back this week.
Most shocking thing that has happened so far would probably have to be the firing of branford - because he was cocky and gave up his 'ímmunity' - inexcusable by Mr Trump's standards.

I rekon they're dramatising things to beef up the show, and make it more dramatic than the first. Trump has been firing people for reasons unrelated to the challenges quite alot.
