Pachuca Estadio Hidalgo 30k

The Estadio Miguel Hidalgo is a football stadium named after Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. It is located in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, also named in honor of Miguel Hidalgo.

This sport facility is one of Mexico's mid-sized soccer stadiums having capacity for 30,000 seats and was built in 1993 but recently was completely refurbished and modernized. It is located in the city of Pachuca, formerly a large mining site. This building is used mostly for soccer games and is the home of C.F. Pachuca. As the city of Pachuca is located at an elevation of 2426 meters (7960 ft), the weather can be remarkably cold for games. Also, the altitude provides a significant home field advantage.

Impressive stadiums.
I was skeptical about Chivas stadium first, but it looks very good so far.

Is there a minimum capacity for U-17 WC stadiums?
All these stadiums seem quite large, can't imagine any games except the ones of Mexico selling out.

UNAM stadium is one of my favorite stadiums in Latin America.

Maybe just need a roof, I think, a roof similar to the Olympic Stadium Athens 2004, would be awesome.

I think UNAM stadium is better than Universitario of Monterrey, but the FMF probably wants different cities to host the World Cup.

The club almost gave away for free all the tickets., Only $1.50 USD in the best seats available., And Santos played with it's 2nd team.

Only $100,000,000 USD.

no, that is not correct.
The whole proyect of TSM was 100,000,000 USD not the stadium alone.
The stadium was probably 70% of that because the Territorio Santos Modelo includes an hotel, a plaza or mall, a club for the players, investement in fields for the young players, and a football school.
So the stadium probably costed between 70 or 80 million USD.

No, that is not correct.-
The hotel and the mall have not been built., The cost of those two does not figure in the $100 MDD.- Any tipical 200 room hotel (nothing fancy) costs around $15 MDD, and a mall around $25 MDD, that's $40 million., You cannot build this kind of stadium with $60 million USD, not in Mexico. The prices of steel and concrete rose more than 30% in the 18 months of the construction of the stadium and this stadium is pure concrete and steel, so keep that in mind., I'm pretty sure that your "chivas stadium" will end up costing more than 30% than expected at first, so if you wan't to tell to the whole world that Chivas stadium will end up costing more than TSM be my guest if that's what you want (and part of it will be because Omnilife group ran out of money to pay for it to ICA)

It is counted in the 100 million, check the webpage and check the official skyscrapercity thread...
The new corona is really nothing special.. for sure you can build the stadium with only 60 Million..

You are not counting the casa club built, the fields, the land, and the rest.
And by the way, nobody is talking about the chivas stadium.. please learn how to read..

The webpage does not give any info OF THE FINAL cost of the stadium (late 2009), it gives the estimated cost before the groundbreaking in early 2008., The "casa club" is actually inside the stadium, the land was given for free, it had no cost whatsoever.
And have you been to the new Corona stadium?? You have all the right to say that "its nothing special" but it's hard to say that if you have not been actually inside the stadium (that occurs with all stadiums). Some appear to be great in tv (like the alamodome or the dome in St Louis, but they are really so so stadiums) and other appear standard ones and give you a surprise once you visit them (like qwest field for example).
The thread is about Mexico U-17 World Cup, not about TSM only, so i'm entitled to talk about a stadium that has a chance of being part of it (chivas stadium).- Don't be ironic by saying "please learn how to read".- I'm reading and writing in english so you tell me if I know how to read my dear friend.

Do you want the truth fine, yes i have been to the new corona and is really nothing special but yes, it is way better than the old corona. I am glad you have a better arena but please dont put more money on the construction that it is.
What i mean by looking at the official webpage is that the whole project includes several other buildings and the WHOLE is 100 million not the stadium.

and yes, you can talk about any of the stadiums of the thread but i didnt even mentioned the stadium chivas in the first post and you felt attacked and mentioned the stadium.

Do you truly believe that the stadium alone cost 100 million USD?
You mentioned that yourself on post number 100 in the thread saying that the whole proyect (all the buildings) costed 97.5 Million USD.

Check wikipedia.. the whole project costs 120 million.. including the stadium.
And no.. acording to the type of construction of the stadium that would be rather expensive.. more than 60% of the seats does not have any foundation.. just built the concrete ramps and installed the seats..
that's why that figure is not correct.

so, did you really come to Torreon? 'cause I find the fact that you were not impressed by the stadium very unusual... you seem like a well traveled person (just by the picture of course); in that context, you should really know that these kind of venues are very hard to found in countries outside the first world... If you weren't amazed by the stadium, fine, but don't give your opinion like it was the absolute truth; the fact is that not all the people will like the stadium, just like not all the people will like the Chivas Stadium... it's a matter of taste;
In the other hand, you base your asseverations in Wikipedia?? really?? any person with 2 pounds of brains would know that it's like THE WORST WAY TO GET TRUTHFUL INFO... the construction cost was, initially, $100 million JUST THE STADIUM; the training courts, the chapel and the youth teams building was originally held for the second stage of the project, but almost immediately was passed to the first stage. Wikipedia has he same info that was on the official page at the time that the project was announced...
PS... don't get to anxious, your stadium it's almost done (after, like, how many years? maybe that's the main difference between the two projects don't you think?)

Calm down everyone, perhaps the Corona stadium is not worth $100 million USD but surely increased its construction costs but with the increased cost of material and the recession.

I do not find wiki more useful than SSC, in these kind of matters the only beholder of the truth is the main contractor itself (not even the club that pays for the overprice charged by the contractor firm).- If your sources are arquitects who saw "pictures" of the stadium well that explains everything, it's like saying that (for example) yankee stadium in no freaking way can cost the 1.4 billion USD that the team says it costed just by looking at the timetible pictures of the construction itself. For me, "by pictures" Cowboy stadium "looks" more $$$ than yankee stadium, and in reality it's the other way around.
MY sources are some of the contractors: Pergo Industrias, the company built 1/3 of the steel structure of the main building., The cost of it: $8.8 million dollars. Who told me that? Jorge Perez, tennis friend of mine who owns the company.
Comex Laguna: All the paint of the stadium was comex. Cost of materials only: $450,000 USD.- From 2002 to 2006 I was in charge of Comex Laguna and still good friend with the current administrator.
Ioesa: They were hired to install part of the electrical instalations of the stadium.- Estimated cost: $4,000,000 USD.- Source: Antonio del Rio Felix, friend of mine and part owner of the company.
My current company: (I wont tell which one to maintain confidenciality):- I wasn´t employed in my current company went the stadium was built but we sold all the pvc pipes for the sewer and sanitary instalations (including the system for main and training fields). Total Cost: $750,000 USD
And I can go on and on: Stable construcciones (another part of the main structure)- Jimsa, Jibe, all of them construction firms., I haven't talked with all of them but the ones who I have, say to me that the total investment of the buildings that you see right now is well over $120 million USD (no mall, no hotel, half of the parking lot still missing, etc).
I have more than 12 years of experience in the construction business and believe me, I have never seen the whopping costs in materials go up as in the last 2 years. $100 million is an accurate figure for the Corona Stadium.
I'm not even going to bother on commenting in the part of "the foundations" that's pure rubbish my friend.

There's not an exact date for it.- For once Tijuana's stadium isn't finished and Mty's Universitario stadium is the only one who really would need some kind of upgrade for it (Morelos stadium is in far better condition).-
Fifa cannot begin selling tickets because there is no game calendar (there are no countries qualified yet, just host Mexico).
We have to understand that an U17 world cup isn't a great ticket seller tourney, in my opinion no stadium will fill out except when Mexico plays.- The level of play is far worst than Mexico's conadeip tourney.- Under 17 means kids with inferior playing level than colleges.

it's a shame that u mexicans bring your battle of chivas vs santos stadiums to an international thread

I think that the kids world cup should be played every 4 years just like the fifa world cup, it would be more desirable to go to the stadium, anyway I'm happy cause I'll go here in my city jejeje

Don't worry.. we already talked about it..
I believe the idea of the worldcup for young people is to gain experience, so the two years time frame for me is correct..

Are there any modifications taking place within the stadiums specifically for this tournament, like press boxes, etc?

England we're a bit rusty.

Plus the post saved Rwanda 3 times in the first half. Hallam Hope is a great prospect as is Sterling. Both our goal scorers.

We won the Euro u17's last season but I don't think we are as good this year. Hard to say as I've only seen them a few times.

Dutch beat us in the semi's of the Euro's this year after we struggled in the group stage.

Lost players such as Connor Wickham who's goals help us beat the French and Spanish last year.

Took him to the U21 tournament where England under-performed. Although their prep wasn't great when players like Wilshere and Carrol cant be arsed to go.

My money is on the Dutch, Brazillians and Germans.

Just noticed Brazil beat Denmark 3-0.

Danish youth team is quality.

And Congo beat the Dutch?

Watch out for the US. Their youth programme is quality. They just pinch top talent from around the world, bung it into an academy in Florida. Give them a passport, pretend their mother or father or great aunt is a yank and wham bam, they have an amazing team.

Incredible atmosphere at the final. Worthy of a men's world cup final, let alone a youth final.

It must have been such an experience for these young players to win it at the Legendary Azteca stadium. One of the greatest footballstadiums in the world.
