James-Bond January 10th, 2010, 06:12 AM ^^ Doesn't look all that bad!
brightside. January 10th, 2010, 07:12 AM I wish it had a lot more glass. But it would be good to see some mid rises in pindi, even if they don't have a world class facade at first.
waqas03 January 10th, 2010, 08:01 AM they have prepared the ground for one year now. the little development between the right and the left side of the ground is a gas station. i hope it turn out to be a viable project and is not laid off due to the ever persuasive third world problems of finance , in efficiency and govermentia delays
Ahmad Rashid Ahmad January 10th, 2010, 09:17 AM Hopefully, this one will be build on time........Not a bad design though

i also thought of the same thing! glass cladding looks much better than anything else! and it also save energy during the day time!

Their website has no updates, they are just saying that it will start in the beginning of Jan, 2010.......
Aadil.Aijaz January 12th, 2010, 06:26 PM I can't see the renders. :(

malikkhalid7 January 12th, 2010, 09:08 PM I don't know why render and Google map location has been deleted, I have posted these twice but someone (probably the administration) is deleting it for some reason. I don't see or feel any issue or reason behind this deleting???
Strong Hearted January 12th, 2010, 09:43 PM nopes the moderator is not deleting it :) perhaps there is a problem in ur photobucket account! upload again and then post it here

Okay I shall try once more when I go home, the system at my work doesn't allow Photobucket etc:
KB January 13th, 2010, 01:45 PM ^^ you have either deleted the picture on photobucket or moved it (across folders) hence making the link here obsolete.
malikkhalid7 January 13th, 2010, 08:20 PM Oh this is the reason, I thought once it is posted on thread I can delete from Photobucket. Alright now I know. Thanks.
malikkhalid7 January 15th, 2010, 08:12 AM Folks: I have reposted the Google Map locaton and Render in first and second posts.
malikkhalid7 May 11th, 2010, 01:16 AM On May 3rd I went to Alshifa Hospital and had a bit of chat with an employee to inquire about the project, he very briefly told me that there was a dispute between Alshifa Trust Administration and Chaklala Cantonment Board Rawalpindi, the project has not started yet because of this reason.
malikkhalid7 February 8th, 2011, 02:13 AM I think because of restrictions of Cantt Area the administration has reduced the height of towers from 18 to 12 floors each.
Al-Shifa Trust on way to achieve self-sufficiency
Monday, February 07, 2011
Rawalpindi
The Al-Shifa Trust (AST) will utilise its land on Jhelum Road here to construct four 12-storey commercial towers to achieve self-sufficiency in meeting its growing financial needs as no organisation can depend on donations forever, its President Lieutenant General (r) Jahandad Khan said here on Sunday.
According to a press release, the president said, “Three eye hospitals of the trust are already functioning at Rawalpindi, Kohat and Sukkur while the fourth one at Muzaffarabad will start functioning shortly. The number of patients is growing and so is the expenditure of the trust,” he said. “The income of the trust is, however, falling short to meet the growing needs. To achieve the goal of self-sufficiency, four 12-storey commercial towers will be built in Rawalpindi to generate funds,” he added.
The Al-Shifa Trust president said earlier there have been some hurdles, including ban on construction of high-rise buildings, but now there is no such problem. He said the towers project would be executed in phases and in the first phase one tower would be constructed. He said the work on design of the building is going on and the construction of all four towers would be completed in three to four years. He said the towers project would hopefully meet up to 75 per cent of the trust’s budget.

ahxan February 20th, 2013, 07:52 PM howz tower............??????
is its construction started or....
malikkhalid7 February 20th, 2013, 08:18 PM ^^ No, they could not get approval from Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, I thinks RCB does not allow building more than 12 stories. General Jahandad Khan reduced that project to 12 stories of four towers but after his death, I believe, the new president doesn't seem to be interested in this project.
