Damn those bastards that kidnapped and killed Teddy... sdtj November 5th, 2005, 02:14 AM Finally I find a render of this tower... It's going to look great... A wonderful addition for HK http://skyscraperpage.com/gallery/data/569/81ninarender.jpg Skybean November 5th, 2005, 02:21 AM The render looks like an erect penis. The actual building, on the other hand, looks very classy and high quality. There's been no "cheaping out" on this building at all. Another gem. Just one of HK's signature towers in Toronto would do wonders for the skyline. HK is crazy... so many 300m + buildings and even more buildings going up. There's over 400 forty storey + buildings (over 400ft) in the New Territories alone... not even counting HK island OR Kowloon. That really says something. It just boggles the mind. The-Real-Link November 5th, 2005, 03:05 AM I've been following this tower for awhile off and on and I do have to say that although the renderings left me a little skeptical, the (almost) finished product is quite grand! Maybe it's just the nice blue glass but the tower carries a very strong sense of verticality. It'll be sweet to see when it's all done. bs_lover_boy November 5th, 2005, 10:19 AM Oh yea, I see that Nina has a LARGE podium, is it going to be a mall or is it going to be something like a convention center or what??? vincent November 5th, 2005, 10:36 PM if i remember correctly, they got both mall and convention space in the podium. goodmood10 November 5th, 2005, 11:27 PM cool building!!!!! Great update SanMiguel, I haven't seen you post in quite some time! That picture clearly shows the dominance of Nina Tower. During construction there are so many cool little details that can be captured on the camera. scorpion November 27th, 2005, 07:37 AM SanMiguel dropping SERIOUS WEAPONRY NOW!!! :crazy2: :tongue4: :cheers2: CULWULLA November 27th, 2005, 10:16 AM can i ask a silly question? how come nina tower is FULL height and there is NO sign of clading? did they order it? truck get lost? in Australia the cladding climbs upjust slower then the floor plates. this wil atake ages to complete. btw, great pix superchan7 November 27th, 2005, 01:19 PM They did take a long time with the cladding and I have no idea why, but it's almost completely covered in glass now (check a few pages back for the most recent pictures). SanMiguel November 27th, 2005, 02:21 PM @CULWULLA i know what u mean, i also often see that in Australia or the US the cladding starts much earlier... on of the Chicago Eastlake projects they still start the cladding though the tower has only 10 (of around 65) floors yet. and on the other side in Bangkok there is a whole building's concrete finished but no windows at all. Then came the asia crisis...and now it stands there like this(below) for long... (and it's not the only one) But i have no clue why some start cladding earlier and some wait till topout maybe we should ask a construction worker or architect :dunno: http://www.micpix.de/gallery/data/media/14/112303580HGquyD_small.jpg . Dennis November 27th, 2005, 02:23 PM wow thanks for the amazing updates san miguel SanMiguel November 27th, 2005, 02:37 PM well, it's not the most updated pics at all but possibly the most updated aerials :D :D :D . hkskyline November 27th, 2005, 05:58 PM can i ask a silly question? how come nina tower is FULL height and there is NO sign of clading? did they order it? truck get lost? in Australia the cladding climbs upjust slower then the floor plates. this wil atake ages to complete. btw, great pix I think it's just a pecularity for this building. 2 IFC's cladding was rising very quickly along with the tower. The bottom floors were already open and the showroom was available before the top parts were completed. Mosaic November 27th, 2005, 06:16 PM Oh! SanMiguel, you are so awesome. Such a great update. Love the color of the glass.... superchan7 December 3rd, 2005, 04:26 AM It is 320m. One would hope that it looks massive. sdtj December 3rd, 2005, 04:33 AM I guess, but height is not the reason, there are many buildings over 400m that don't appear as massive.... (massive in good way, I didn't mean it in a negative way) superchan7 December 3rd, 2005, 04:53 AM Tsuen Wan district is mostly residential and industrial buildings and until recently, there were no supertalls. Most buildings were 20-40F with residential-standard floor heights. Therefore there weren't really any buildings over 150m in the area. Now that there are 50~70 floor buildings being constructed in Tsuen Wan, it is getting a less boring skyline. Then we have Nina/Teddy tower as the focal point. I'm enjoying the redevelopment of Tsuen Wan. Sher December 3rd, 2005, 05:48 AM The facade is really interesting. I can't wait to see how they build the top to match the whole building. One fine building! Hope that Tsuen Wan gets a proper skyline soon! I think It will be a real nice skyline, especially with the mountain backdrop. People travelling on the airport express might mistake Tsuen Wan for the main HK skyline but get an even better surprise when they get towards Union Square and then HK Island....
