It looks kinda chubby but it's great, it suits Dubai well in it own special way.

SO low dont know why i bother with in given some of the towers going up
But it floor plate is larger than a 70 floor hotel going up here !

Structural building is almost done if not compleated. The side of the building is covered in nets.

Anybody know who will manage this hotel? looks quite small for 5 star

The clading of the concrete part of the facade is in a well advanced status, it is prograsing also with the aluminium cladding but it has yet to start with the glass panels.

There is no word yet whoo'll manage the hotel, I think is early for that to be annunced (if agreed at all) but I don't think the Gotel is small. The Taj Palace Hotel in Deira is not bigger then this one.

I dont this whole area of Bur Dubai Seems little odd for a 5 star hotel
its not really that close to the water, airport, city perhpas the port ( maybe a little).
It has really taken shape over now
rooms no idea still
have to wait for the offical opening when ever that is

This aerea needed a 5 star hotel. It is EASILY accessible from every side of the town and you can go easily everywhere without much of traffic jams.

Don't forget also that the residential aerea around is home to many millionaires. You just have to see all the Porsches and top of the lines Mercedes and BMWs parked.

There is change, but they are working now on the facade of the other side, which I have never photographed.

The facade is almost complete now. Let's hope that all the roof ornaments (as seen on render below) will make it at the end.

They are definitely doing the roof ornament as on the render.

The crane at the back (as per picture below) is still there, but they're dismantling the one on the front side of the building (as per picture below).

Tiday, May 5th part of the roof ornament were installed. Like the case in Chelsey Tower, they are metalic sceleton to be cladded in aluminium.

Almost, but not finished yet. The entrance needs some work still and they're working on the interiours.

Of course it is tonned down and not as futuristic as the render suggests.

^ I think is the water tank.

In that part of the roof was suposed to go a roof ornament and a spire, as it is on the rear. I guess they didn't make it becouse of the massive watertank to be put there.

Flo, the building is compleated but the hotel hasn't open yet. They are still doing the interiour furnishing.

The crane in front is from a nearby construction site (7 - 8 floors max)

Hotel under investigation for cancelling a client’s booking

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is investigating a complaint filed against a hotel in Dubai, which apparently cancelled the booking of a French businessman.

The businessman, who had booked a room at Dhow Palace Hotel, was in for a shock when he arrived in Dubai on Thursday morning to be told by the manager that his booking had been cancelled.

Huda Daboul, who had made the reservation for the French man, said she usually books rooms for her clients at another hotel but since no room was available there she booked one at Dhow Palace in Bur Dubai, whose staff had earlier approached her to promote the property.

“I called the hotel and made the booking over the telephone and paid via the credit card and received a conformation about the booking,” said Huda.

“When the visitor arrived at the hotel on Thursday morning, he was told that the booking had been cancelled.

“He immediately called me to clarify the situation,” said Huda.

She told Emirates Today that she spoke to the manager and asked him to clarify the issue, but received no co-operation from him, who insisted that the booking had been cancelled.

“When I threatened to call the police, the manager asked me not to involve police in the matter and instead offered my client a room.

“But the client insisted on the matter being investigated by police.

“By the time I arrived at the hotel at 2.30am from Sharjah, where I live, I saw a police patrol car parked in front of the hotel’s entrance.

“Police registered our complaint and heard the manag er’s side of story, but as he failed to back his version with any evidence, I was told by police to take up the matter with DTCM.

“The following day, I filed a complaint to DTCM, which promptly sent a letter to the hotel’s manager to clarify the situation.

“I contacted the person through whom I had made the booking.

“She admitted to me that she had cancelled the booking by mistake,” said Huda adding that the employee expressed her readiness to accept the responsibility before the authorities.

Huda criticised the manager saying that he did not even bother to ask his employee who had made the booking.

“The manager could have easily done that and avoided all the trouble that he caused to everyone involved and could have saved the hotel’s reputation and more importantly that of Dubai’s,” said Huda.

The DTCM has given the management of the hotel until March 1 submit a clarification. Huda said that such problems have a negative impact on the image of Dubai and affect tourism.

Dhow Palace Hotel is located in the heart of Bur Dubai’s commercial district and is in close proximity to the airport, the World Trade Centre and BurJuman shopping centre.

This is hotel is used almost exclusively by American mercenaries ... I mean contractors :lol: going in and out of Iraq.
