View Full Version : #Proposed: 31 Musk Avenue - 16st/60m/mixed use
KJBrissy January 27th, 2010, 11:35 PM From the DA:
The applicant proposes to establish a mixed use tower comprising a total of 60 residential units, 112 hotel rooms, shops, offices and restaurant over sixteen levels on the subject site.
I can't upload photo's from work, however I thought I'd start the thread while I had the information. The design however is a fairly generic box which I don't think is an issue as in Kelvin Grove, all your attention is on the ground floor anyway.
The views from the top would be incredible.
Dimethyltryptamine January 28th, 2010, 02:03 AM Awesome news. :) Look forward to seeing some pictures!
Marty_ January 28th, 2010, 03:41 AM I would add some, but for some reason the pdfs aren't opening for me at the moment (pdonline does that sometimes).
Will try again later.
KJBrissy January 28th, 2010, 03:46 AM ^^Open in new Window, then go away from your computer for 10 minutes and come back again...that's the only way I could get it to work.

Burden January 28th, 2010, 10:01 AM Wow thats something you'd expect in Regional Queensland, I reckon it looks shocking.
Brizzy-Mike January 28th, 2010, 11:09 AM Er?
SteV January 28th, 2010, 11:54 AM Foul
beastjim January 28th, 2010, 12:05 PM To be honest I don't think it would be that out of place in the KGUV, and that is more because other buildings in the area have some very distinctive features, so something of a more muted style could be warranted. Thing is that at 16 stories, it could be rather tall for the area(Village centre across the road is only 8-9 stories) and stick out, especially as it is on a prominent corner and situated along the key corridor through the entire area.
Side note I thought the hotel was meant to go further out the back (towards Vic Park Golf Course), but it has been a long time since I read the plans.
o_128 January 28th, 2010, 12:06 PM Not a looker
neilo63 January 28th, 2010, 01:10 PM We haven't progressed from the 70's tripe! BCC rip in to them!!!!
SteV January 28th, 2010, 03:43 PM Kelvin Grove is gonna be a ghetto one day... the urban village buildings are too flash either.
BrizzyChris January 28th, 2010, 10:14 PM Surely something so mediocre cannot be approved by BCC??
Locke January 29th, 2010, 01:09 AM Excuse me whilst I go and hurl.
Honestly, I know these are tough economic times but is that an excuse to let standards fall through the floor?
GMAC January 29th, 2010, 02:34 AM Looks like a miniture version of Pandanus in Darwin!!!! Which really is not a good thing.
Macca-GC February 1st, 2010, 12:31 AM I don't mind the park side frontage, but GOD that Musk Avenue facade is just shithouse!
JayT April 17th, 2010, 05:57 AM Wow I missed this one - density in KG?
KJBrissy August 15th, 2011, 01:27 AM This has been approved @ 12 stories and 49m. Still includes the hotel and restaurant and is still quite concrete.
brizguy August 15th, 2011, 02:12 AM Musk avenue? Why is it not pink =)
