Sim City 4 is too complex, it's a pain to play.

@ ABS - I'm finding the same thing about SC4, I actually find it less flexible to build the city you want and way harder to get good buildings, Also your city tends to teeter on the brink of Bankruptcy so you can't do anything cool with it.

Very nice work there. The type of layout you used reminds me of Chicago, especially how the density varies so much.

By the way, if you have any questions about Sim City 4, I'd be glad to answer them. It seems like money problems are the biggest problems with SC4 players, but the remedy is not as hidden as it seems and YES you can build a dream city. First order of business, save money. Your Sims don't care too much about services early in the game, just later when your tax base is strong. :D

And check out http://www.simcitycentral.net or http://www.simtropolis.com. Questions and answers up the wazoo on all stages of your city's life. Keep up the good work anyway. I like seeing old Sim City games being revived with projects.

As an update I've been playing Sim CIty 4 for over a year now and I'll say two things - it took me a while to figure out how to sustain my city - In SC3K it was easy you just build a bunch of power plants and sell the power to your neighbours bringing in the dough nonstop - in SC4 you have to build your own neighbours so the onus is to get your city's individual tax base right - it took some doing but now I'm at the stage where it's working incely.

I'm also working on a new version of Geelong. I'll post soome pics soon!

Yes you're right - you could get exactly the shape you needed and well into the game as well - now it's a real chore!
