œuvres du développement durable, la Tunisie a si tôt œuvré à la mise en place d’une infrastructure idoine, allant de pair avec les besoins des usagers et les spécificités de l’économie nationale.
Ce secteur vital n’a eu de cesse d’enregistrer une amélioration considérable relevant de toutes les branches, sachant que lors d’ une séance plénière tenue récemment à la Chambre des députés, M.Abderrahim Zouari, ministre du Transport a fait savoir que dans le cadre du renouvellement du parc national de transport ferroviaire, un accord de vente d’un montant de 80,148 millions de dollars US, a été conclu, le 22 octobre 2009 entre la société nationale des chemins de fer de Tunisie (SNCFT) et la banque chinoise de développement « China Exit Bank ».

First project: HIGH SPEED EMUS TRAINS |2011|CSR China| 160 km/h
Tunis Project, China’s first power distributed DMU export project, features high technical content. In this project, the internationally advanced EMU will be manufactured by CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd, in line with European standard, and it will adopt the “2-car train” means and set up two classes i.e. deluxe and ordinary, with the delivery date being designated in August, 2011.

Second project : The High Speed rail link in line with the transmaghrebian
Tunisia is planning to invest $ 5.5 billion over the next decade in the development of a high-speed rail link with the Libya, Morocco and Algeria.
The project would see Tunisia build 780km of TGV rail track, as well as the related support infrastructure.
So 2 major projects : the first one will be for national transport between the major cities of the country whereas the second one will be in line with the regional TGV project between the major cities of the Maghreb ...
My understanding is the Tgv will be a common projects between the 5 countries. each country needs to built their national railway network ...

Star of Central Plain” AC EMU with the speed of 160km/h

This 160km/h EMU is a 25 kV AC-DC-AC power distributed EMU. Its formation is Mc + Tp + M + M + Tp + Mc , with seating capacity of 548, maximum operation speed of 160km/h and traction power of 3200kW. Power supply for EMU is adopted with microcomputer network control technology, while concentrated rectifying and distributed invert is adopted for auxiliary circuit. The bogie is a new type of bolsterless power distributed and non-power bogie. Carbody is adopted with light drum-shaped body, while car head is made of integral FRP with streamlined exterior. The interior decoration is very beautiful and luxurious with coordinative color. EMU is capable of excellent starting and acceleration performance. It can meet the requirement of safe and reliable operation.

Selon Railfaneurope (http://www.railfaneurope.net/list/tunisia/tunisia_sncft.html), les trains CSR Nanjing Purzhen commandés par SNCFT sont des autorails diesels (DMU). Le "Star of Central Plain" est un autorail électrique (EMU). Le DMU CSR pour Venezuela (http://www.csrgc.com.cn/ens/cpyfw/dcz/2008-06-18/717.shtml) (140 km/h) est peut-être plus proche au design des trains pour la Tunisie.
