Does anybody know what is happening here? When will the fountain be ready?

It was mentioned in an earlier post (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=27331152&postcount=83) that it would have been expected to complete in Feb09.

Hmmm not heard any news on it since or seen the site myself.

I've passed by the site recently. What I saw was a concrete (?) structure out in the water. Around it are 3 hulking, rusting, boat-like things. On one of the rusty boat-thing, there was some kind of heavy equipment.

Given what I've seen, it looks like it will be a while before it's up and running.

The good news is that the pathway along the waterfront at that point has been finished and you can walk all the way to the Flyer along the water.

Yes that is good news, but what I don't like is that on the other side of the lake, if you want to walk down to the restaurants at the stadium, its a huge part where you can't walk next to the water. They should open up for the public here. Its great for running or cycling, and too bad its a big part you have to go out in the roads, and a huge detour.

Recently passed through the area and noticed that one of the 5 the rusty barges by the fountain area is out of the water. They appear to be hacking them into pieces with some construction equipment on the newly installed walkway. :bash: It looks like they have been blocking off the access to the walkway for this.

Also there is a new structure going up around the 1.4 km mark. Metal frame and staircase is up. Anyone know what that might be?
