The opening date of Shanghai to Hangzhou (150km/350km/h) has been pushed back from May 1, 2010 to October 1, 2010. I found a blog post (but only one source) that claimed, "Work on the high-speed Shanghai-Hangzhou line was delayed due to financing problems."

True?

Also Fuzhou to Xiamen (270km/250km/h) was pushed back almost four months to March 26, 2010.

Zhengzhou to Xi'an (455km/350km/h) is opening tomorrow though.

Anyways if there are money issues I hope they delay the lowest demand projects by 5-10 years. Guizhou doesn't need a high speed rail line for some time. The loan money used for rail would be better employed to develop Guizhou or improve the pitiful health and education. But loan money for rail probably contributes to some degree to crowding out funding for those initiatives.
