Feel free to 'broadcast' this pano to the world......This is the first time I made such long pano and it took me a long long time to do it as my pano software doesn't accept such long pano :(
I stitched 24 pictures for this one! :D
babystan03 December 28th, 2004, 10:55 AM This is like a "flagship" picture of Singapore........
RafflesCity December 28th, 2004, 10:59 AM @sze actually I thought the pano you took outside huaiwei's balcony seems longer but this captures amazing detail and depth

I think morning time the western part of singapore will be illuminated
huaiwei December 29th, 2004, 12:49 PM Hm.....the problem will be the northern side, which may be forever grey and not well defined because of the sun's position?

hyacinthus December 29th, 2004, 02:16 PM I dunno.. never been up there... that's why I asked if a 360 degrees view is possible?
huaiwei December 29th, 2004, 02:25 PM Haha...me neither. I just get a feeling that the western view isnt as possible, because it is blocked by the downtown, and the western ends are geographically further away compared to the east? We have yet to capture Jurong in our panoramas!

hyacinthus January 10th, 2005, 09:26 AM I found the answers...
> Can you tell a male from a female mantis?
The abdomen of the mantis has several segments. The male mantis, which is usually smaller than the female, has eight segments in its abdomen. The female has only six. The female also has a tube called an ovipositor for laying eggs.
> What are their mating practices?
Autumn is the time of mating for mantises in temperate climates. The male mantis which is usually smaller than the female must be cautious in approaching potential partners, or they will end up as meals rather than mates. Any mantis will eat another mantis if it gets a chance, and mating females are no exception to this rule.
A male usually approaches a female from behind and climbs onto her back, holding on with his front legs. Then be bends the tip of his abdomen under to join the tip of the female's abdomen. Sperm cells pass from the male's body to the female's, where they are stored in a special chamber in her abdomen.
Even after a male mantis has mated with a female, he is not safe from her tremendous appetite. Females often seize their partners and devour them as soon as they have finished mating. In fact, they sometimes attack the males during the mating act. Males do not resist these attacks and even try to finish their tasks before they are eaten by their ferocious mates.

Big ants is fine.......as long as they do not bite hard. The ones on my mango tree are those giant red ants and they have pretty neat claws. Their bite is extremely painful and they LOVE to get into clothes be it when they are left to dry or that when you're sitting there and suddently one miserable ant decides to detour :D

Actually they came and go randomly......but they are irritating enuf to make me hate em. And their bites are kinda painful.....
When I was little I accidentally stand near a nest of ants and before I knew it the ants are all over my legs. It is one of the most painful experiences in my life  ....yeah......they stealthily climb your leg and then about 5 mins later or when you move a little.....they bite!

heirloom January 10th, 2005, 01:50 PM huh why are huddling ants so touching?? i'd just get freaked out that there were that many ants in the first place.
last night a giant giant giant giant army ant i'd never seen before attacked my foot. i stomped on it about 20 times at least? it was still crawling!@£@£!@£!£@! but i guess spraying it with gatsby super hard set&keep spray killed it. that was at sun plaza park.
redstone January 10th, 2005, 01:54 PM I saw those too, like 3 or 4cm long! :uh:
Those really make me freak out.
baqthier January 10th, 2005, 01:58 PM The ones with yellow butts right? When they bite, you will get sick!
redstone January 10th, 2005, 02:18 PM No, with black rear ends, gigantic jaws..
heirloom January 10th, 2005, 03:04 PM uh the one i saw was about.. 2-3 cm i guess? i can't remember. i just didnt expect it to be still wriggling even after 20 stomps with my slipper. slippers are quite flat and have serrated soles for grip dont they? how could it not be smashed into pieces???

Well, this is because Malaysia Forumers r spread around. Live in different state. It is hard to get all the forumers together, cos we all live tooo far from each other. Singapore is different, they have no sate like Malaysia, they all live in an island, so it will be more eassy to meet up together;)
Anyway, i still hope 1 day, malaysia forumers and Singapore forumers will have a big gathering:)
