allegria is under construction.... the golf course and clubhouse are already complete...this will probably be one of the most exclusive places to live in egypt

I'm not sure if you've seen what downtown beirut looks like, but its absolutely gorgeous, so we can expect some really great stuff from this company

Egypt's SODIC gets loan to speed up Allegria work

CAIRO (Reuters) - Property developer SODIC said on Sunday it had secured a 350 million Egyptian pound loan from Bank of Alexandria to speed up work at its flagship Allegria residential project.

The firm said in a statement that accelerating work at the project, located on Cairo's western outskirts, would help it recognise more of the 4.2 billion pounds in unit sales that it had contracted but had not yet shown up on its income statement.

Many developers in Egypt do not fully recognize revenues until they deliver homes to customers, which can take as much as five years after the contract is signed.

SODIC also said the loan kept it on track to raise 1.5 billion pounds by 2012. The firm also finished a 550 million pound rights issue in February, and said it would raise the remaining money through more debt.

It said its agreement with the Bank of Alexandria, a subsidiary of Italy's Intesa Sanpaolo, also included refinancing its existing 85 million pound loan from the bank.

SODIC shares were down 0.8 percent at 1008 GMT, compared to a 0.4 percent gain by the benchmark Egyptian index.
