How about starting a new thread for interesting historical videos on China's cities?

Here's a youtube I found:

^^

When you posted historic videos, I was expecting something from the 1930's. I guess 2001 Shanghai would be nostalgic in 2030 :)

Well, I do my best :) At the rate of change in China, 10 years is equal to 20 in western countries anyways ;)

Nice! Thank you. I wouldn't mind videos that are also from the Deng era too.

I mean its interesting. Many people think of nostalgia in China being limited to pre-Revolution period but in fact, the 1980's, 1990's and even the early 2000's are pretty nostalgic looking back on it. It was a totally different country back then when 380 kmph trains spanning the country was just a pipe dream, Shanghai only had one or two subway lines, and most of the vehicles on the streets were taxis, buses, or trucks. Now I find myself taking Shanghai's massive subway system, China's high speed rails, and enormous expressway network for granted.
