Centrio Mall’s earth colors are now very much visible as revealed by the latest pictures.

Brown, green and orange-like colors dominate the mall’s facade. You can also see the word CENTRIO installed at the entrance canopy.

Meanwhile, installation of styrofoam of the anchor store’s exterior continues. It was gathered that the anchor store will open in December just in time for the rush shopping season. Although the mall will have a soft opening in October, not all sections will be available as tenants will still be renovating their respective spaces. It was believed that Centrio will have its grand opening in December.

Mindanao investments double in first half of year.

CAGAYAN DE ORO -- Investments in Northern Mindanao in the first half of 2012 reached P10.877 billion, or more than twice compared with the P4.88 billion posted during the same period last year, data from the regional office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) showed.
Linda O. Boniao, regional director of DTI, said the surge of investments was most notable in the province of Misamis Oriental with a three-fold increase, or P7.50 billion compared with P2.37 billion in 2011. The province accounted for over two-thirds of new capital pouring into the region during the period.

Ms. Boniao said this is due to major ventures in the province such as property-related projects including those linked with the Ayala’s Centrio development in this city as well as the Paseo del Rio, a project that would convert areas near the Cagayan de Oro River into a commercial hub.

Outside of those projects, she said, the Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. plant in the neighboring town of Villanueva is also undergoing a major expansion.

"For the first half of 2012 alone, we have already exceeded our target and we are expecting more merchants to invest here as the Centrio Mall of Ayala Land is nearing its opening," Ma. Eliza A. Pabillore, DTI director for Misamis Oriental said. The Ayala and Anflocor joint venture shopping mall is scheduled to open before the end of October and is expected to lure new businesses to the city.

Ms. Pabillore said Misamis Oriental’s strength is having one of the best ports in the country and with the opening of the Laguindingan airport later this year, it would be easier and more convenient for traders to ship their products to Mindanao and the Visayas through the local ports.

The Mindanao Container Terminal is one of the key infrastructures. Latest data from the Mindanao Container Terminal showed that from January to June 2012, the volume of containers served by the port has reached 17,318 twenty-foot equivalent units, or about 5% higher than volume handled from the same period last year. -- Rochie Lou A. Globe telecom intends to open a "flaship" store in centrio. A brand new concept unlike their normal business centers. (as always, smart is barred from any ayala malls in the philippines, ayala owns shares in globe telecom), if negotiations will be successful, sun cellular will be able to secure a lease agreement (sun was recently purchased by smart's mother company - pldt), they will open a flagship store as well.
