I´m curious how the Hafencity project (http://hafencity.com/html/info_uk.html) will develop. Some part projects of it are already realised or currently under construction. But there won´t be many highrises. And these highrises won´t be really high.

One project already finished: the Hanseatic Trade Center. right highrise finished 1996, left highrise finished 2002.

I like the left highrise. :)

Here in Helsinki, I'm most excited about the Keski-Pasila project. They will not start construction until 2008 and nothing final has been decided yet. Here is the master plan for Keski-Pasila by the Italian architect firm Cino Zucchi:

Arena Central
Birmingham, United Kingdom

800ft+

HOK's Design

Re-integrating the site with the city core's urban fabric was the challenge for this mixed-use facility. With a 450-bed, four-star hotel, high quality office and residential components, and an array of entertainment facilities, Arena Central revitalizes the area by creating a lively and dynamic public space and linking Birmingham's major nodal. The design integrates Arena Central with the area, allowing facades to change in response to their immediate neighbours.
