☆ Morocco in Walt Disney World ☆ [Archive]

The Morocco Pavilion is part of the World Showcase within Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. It was the first expansion pavilion to be added to World Showcase, opening on September 7, 1984.

The Moroccan Pavilion, designed to look like a Moroccan city with a realistic Minaret, features the only pavilion in which the country's government aided in the design. Guests to the pavilion gain insight on the lifestyle and culture of the Moroccan people through the Gallery of Arts and History. The Fes House shows guests the typical Moroccan house. Inside the pavilion, North African plants including citrus trees, date palms, and olive trees, and fountains. The courtyard plays hosts to entertainment, including a belly dancing show in the evening. Restaurant Marrakesh, along with the Moorish Cafe, serve Moroccan fare, including roast lamb in Tajine, Couscous, and Harira soup. Six shops adorn the pavilion, selling patrons everything from rugs to leather goods, and traditional Moroccan clothing.

Some of the major defining structures of the pavilion include Chellah, a replication of the necropolis in Rabat, and the Koutoubia, a replica of the minaret of the same name in Marrakesh. A replica of Bab Boujeloud, the gateway to the Fez medina leads you to a Bazaar area.

King Hassan II actually sent Moroccan artisans to design and create the many mosaics. Due to Islamic religious beliefs on the content of art, the mosaics contain no representations of people. The government also sponsors the pavilion, while a corporation holds sponsoring rights on every other pavilion.

Yup Moroccans all of them.. the owners, the managers and the cast members except one manager who is American, i was working there too for 15 months :)

Au contraire, le pavillon est tres tres beau, tu devrais le visiter en personne pour mieux l'admirer et en faite les artisans marocains ont fait un tres bo travail un tres beau mix ils ont pris un peu de tout du Maroc tu verras dans les photos a venir inshalah.. et ce pavillon est le seul a etre construit non par des americains, car les autres pavillons (Canada, UK, France, Japan, USA, Italy, Germany, China, Norway et Mexico) ont ete construits par Disney..

Au contraire, le pavillon est tres tres beau, tu devrais le visiter en personne pour mieux l'admirer et en faite les artisans marocains ont fait un tres bo travail un tres beau mix ils ont pris un peu de tout du Maroc tu verras dans les photos a venir inshalah.. et ce pavillon est le seul a etre construit non par des americains, car les autres pavillons (Canada, UK, France, Japan, USA, Italy, Germany, China, Norway et Mexico) ont ete construits par Disney..

Oui, cela est très beau, c'est le mix Koutoubia-tuile verte de Fes qui est surprenant à voir, en même temps l'idée est de montrer le plus de choses sur un petit espace.:)

Ce que j'ai dis c'est que grâce à Hassan 2, le pavillon du Maroc présente de belles choses telles que les zelliges ou les boisseries, si disney l'aurait fait lui même il aurait mis du carrelage bon marché.

Le fait que l'on représente le monde arabe, n'est pas une surprise. L'artisanat (cuir, bois, revêtement, dinanderie, orfevrerie, marquetterie, ebenisterie ...) et le raffinement marocain n'a pas d'égal (cuisine, habillement... ).:cheers:

biensur l'art traditionel marocain n'a pas d'egal c le top ds tt le monde arab !! et tu c ts les touristes qui visitent ce pavillon restent bouche-be's qu'ils soient europeens ou americains ou meme latinos ki n'ont pas eu la chance de visiter le vrai maroc, ils le decrivent comme le petit bijoux d'EPCOT :) et cela les poussent a partir visiter le maroc, c un coup fort pr le tourisme marocain, c dans ca ou se conjugue la vision d'Hassan 2, c pour ca ke des k'il a eu l'offre du pavillon il n'a pas hesiter a envoyer de suite ses artisants :cheers:

l'egypte d'aujourd'hui n'a pas grand chose, a part les pyramides de leurs ancestres, par contre l'art marocain c d'hier et d'aujourd'hui et meme demain :lol: et en fait y'a deja un pavillon mexicain avec une pyramide anca ou bien aztec :lol:

Merci beaucoup pour ces photos rafraichissantes, je ne savais pas que le pavillon reflétait aussi exactement la diversite de notre architecutre et de notre artisanat! C'est franchement impressionnant; ca fait d'autant plus plaisir, que c'est spécifiquement marocain, et pas vaguement "oriental" (comme les américains le font souvent)! Y'en aura toujours qui diront que c'est le pavillon nord-africain :) En cours, re-merci et profites en bien!

mais je vous en prie :) ca me fait autant de plaisir aussi :cheers: well pr les americains y'en a 2 types : ceux qui savent c koi le Maroc et ceux qui n'ont aucune idee :lol: pour ceux qui le savent ils reconnaitront tres facilement son architecture et sont deja sous son charme, pour les autres ils l'admirent bcp aussi et s'y interressent ils le googlent et partent pr une aventure au Maroc, tt en se basant de leur experience au petit Maroc sur Disney World :banana:

mais sinn cote belly dancer y'en a partout :D et Aladdin sa place a lui c'est le Maroc, si les petits ou grands veulent le rencontrer et prendre des tofs avec ils doivent passer par le Maroc, pck sur EPCOT chaque personnage de Disney a un pays, Belle en France, Mulan en Chine, Alice au UK, SnowWhite en Germany, Mickey aux USA, Donald au Mexico et Aladdin ainsi que Jasmin au Maroc :cheers:

oui c Amir Ali, oui mtn il s'est installe' sur Casa et fait des shows de temps a autres a TGI Friday's d'Ain Diab, il a travaille' pr Disney pr presque 26 ans :)

sois sur que tu suis les etapes sur le site fournis par N.O.V.A :

et je suis sur que tu auras le meme resultat comme moi.. voila j'ai essaye' de faire des snaps des etapes j'espere qu'ils te seront utiles :)

1 - type about:config in the address bar and press Enter..

2 - then click on I'll be careful. i promise !

3 - find the entry that says Network.http.sendRefererHeader and double-click on it.

4 - change the entry to 0 which will disable the referrer. click OK, close the browser, re-open it....

n'oublie pas d'actualiser la page (F5), si ca ne marche toujours pas, essaye d'effacer le cache du navigateur ca devrait aller (firefox:outils>supprimer l'historique>cocher la case cache)

The prices are really good.
In Vancouver we have a Moroccan restaurant where you need to spend at least $50 for food.
I really need to visit Disney World now, Maybe spring break instead of Mexico. :banana:

The prices are good indeed, but don't forget first you have to get to EPCOT by paying a ticket which costs around 60 to 80$ + 15$ for the parking ..

It's worth the visit, you should do Mexico (I mean the real place :lol: ) later, come to Epcot, go to Morocco, once done go to Mexico it's right there too :cheers:
