Oran Stadium Steel Structure Works Completed in Algeria

The Metal Structure Company of the 22nd China Metallurgical Construction Corporation (22MCC Group) finished all the truss manufacturing works for Oran Stadium in Algeria on May 28, 2012, marking the full completion of the steel structure manufacturing works under this project package. The Stadium, partly undertaken by the Metal Structure Company of 22MCC Group, will be a venue for the high standard international sport events in the North of Africa.

The multi-use Olympic Stadium is located in the Economic Technology Development Zone of Oran City, covering a land area of 290,000 square meters and a floorage area of 59,000 square meters. The Stadium, with a capacity of 40,000 seats, consists of the sports venue, the bleachers, the football field, the plastic runway and the other auxiliary sports facilities. After completion, it will turn out to be the largest stadium in this country.

During the project execution, the project staff made great endeavor for technical innovation basing upon the engineering practice. Their achievements included an Technical Innovation on Manufacturing of Bridge Structure for Steel Structure of Large-sized Stadium and three inventive patents (for instance, cutting mould for arc steel tube). In addition, they accumulated the engineering experiences on connection of bending and twisting steel tubes. All these achievements have greatly enhanced the implementation efficiency and manufacturing quality, and contributed a lot to the overall completion of the works on a quality and efficiency basis

The installation works of steel structures for Oran Stadium of Algeria was commenced by the Metal Structure Company of China 22MCC Group (22MCC Group) on June 26, 2012. The Stadium, which is partly contract by 22MCC Group, will be constructed into a venue for the high standard international sport events in the North of Africa.

Located in the Economic Development Zone of Oran City in Algeria, this Stadium covers a land area of 290,000 square meters and a total floorage area of 59,000 square meters. It consists of the Stadium, the bleachers, the football ground, the plastic runway and the other supportive sports facilities. After completion, it will turn out to be the largest stadium in this country, with an audience capacity of 40,000 persons. Under this project, the Metal Structure Company of 22MCC Group is responsible for manufacturing and installation works for the steel structures of the stadium roof, with a total weight of nearly 5,000 tons.

Nice Work, Beautiful images a big and huge amount project. The construction work is amazing and with modern equipment. The stadium absorb 40000 people that would be a great achievement.

I like the fact that they are trying to do something a little bit different than the usual in the design of the stands, but i think that didn´t work very well. The exterior looks good.
