Judging from the lane painting style and the street layout driving should be fairly easy, like in Germany (and unlike in UK :D).

Also, is it true that there is electronic speed-limiter in production cars in Japan to 160km/h (that's what I've heard on Top-Gear...)? I mean that would kinda suck because even if there's a legal 120-130km/h limit on a motorway, it's always fun to hit 200km/h or so at times if traffic ain't too busy and if the car can do that.

Speed limits on express-ways in Japan are ridiculously low. The maximum is 100 km/h, though it's very often like 80 or even lower. At night on some express-ways I saw even electronic signs saying "50" :nuts:

A lot of Japanese drivers cannot really drive faster than 100. Many haven't even tried. Not that they couldn't, some people drive like 120 since the express-ways are not as crowded as some people think, but I talked to many Japanese about why the limits are so low and that we drive like 130 or faster in Europe and all I heard was "危ない" (abunai - dangerous) which simply made me LOL. Many of them said it's best to drive like 80, sometimes 90, but that's crazy :lol: and they were shocked to hear you can get fined for such a slow driving in many European countries.

The quality of the pavement is usually not bad in both countries, but if you consider also lane width, number of lanes, the way exits are build, etc. German highways are of a much higher standard.

I have never been to Germany but I would agree with you already about the way exits are built. I hate japanese exits on highways. Other than that I really like Japanese highways much more than in USA. About the speed limit I used to drive my brothers GTR wayyyy over the speed limit in Osaka :lol:

And you must admit increasing the speed limit would be a great idea. If the road is not crowded, is grade-separated and I feel confident with my driving skills, why can't I drive legally more than 100 while it's proven to be safe in other countries? Like c'mon, we're not in the 60s any more when cars didn't even have seat belts.
But I guess there needs to be some social pressure on the authorities to change that. And for that we'll need to wait some time... :)

I've just watched the first three videos of this page and I wanna congratulate you for such an amazing work there. The music is fantastic, so relaxing and perfect for enjoying the trip. Terrible infrastructure? Where? You're currently living in Japan right now, am I correct?

Japanese infrastructure is world-class (especially with their construction techniques that make their roads last for decades). This is specifically true especially for brand-new projects (like the ones they have in Shiodome and Toyosu......which are fresh and brand new)

Anyway, they are easy to find because the girl who they follow around is none other than Horikita Maki, one of the most famous actresses in Japan.
