minister of interior shiekh abdullah bin nasser, has resigned, but yet to be accepted by the crown prince, over the killing of alghrafa area shiekh, who had a violent quarrel in his majils with his relative, another shiekh, over a plot of land. the first shiekh, in his own majlis, slapped his relative on the face, that's when the other got mad & left the majlis, came back with an automatic machine gun and fired at the shiekh who died on the spot.

before the incident, the government was aware that something bad might happen between the two shiekhs, so shiekh hamad went to the crown prince, tamim, and promised he will solve the problem between the parties, and he even gave his words to tamin that non would resort to violence. but things went wrong, and the killing happened.
so he submitted his resignation. so far not been accept, the main reason is that the emir hamad and crown prince, tamim, love & trust the minister so much, that so far can't find replacement.

Its a bit funny.. Like the crazy stories u hear our sheikhs got involved in 30 or 40 years ago.. One of our sheikhs had a quarrel with a citizen over a piece of land i think, and went to the souq, and sprayed his rolls royce with a machine gun... :)

I wonder what will happen now.. How the courts will deal with this sheikhs incident.. maybe he'll claim his drink was spyked with some drug :lol: :rofl: :rofl:

i know it sound like a nightmare, but belive me, halawala, it's 100% true.
3 of the shiekhs involved in the incident are behind bars now.

Dude, according to the most horrible and unreliable source of information in the world (The family majlis) his father got beaten up (due to him using a road closed as if it was a private road), and thats one of the reasons of this problem. and that the guys that beat him up didn't stay in jail for a long time which led to the Machine gun thing.
