bharatiya March 25th, 2010, 04:47 AM God I hope they do the roof right.
bhargavsura March 25th, 2010, 05:07 AM I absolutely love this building. Perfect residential high rise.
IndiansUnite March 25th, 2010, 06:11 AM The location of the project isn't the greatest in terms of getting regular updates. It's tucked away in a corner of Borivali - one of the northernmost burbs.
sumant March 25th, 2010, 06:17 AM ^^ IU, its perfectly located in borivali . Infact its pretty close to where I stay .I will try and get some updates by this week if possible. Its pretty close to borivali station(5min) and highway and link road and the metro when it comes up.
IndiansUnite March 25th, 2010, 06:25 AM I wasn't talking about its exact location and proximity to important transportation networks but about the ease at which we can get updates from online image hosting and sharing sources.
If it is close to your place then that's just awesome. Can we expect a bi-monthly update? :)
sumant March 25th, 2010, 06:29 AM sure no probs.

I am guessing you buy at this place, your not going to take a train to work metro or otherwise.....
The rates coming out of the market are at this moment Rs12,000- to even Rs20,000 for a view at the top
Located in Devidas Lane, an upmarket residential neighborhood, just a couple of minutes walk to the Jain Derasar.
KuwarOnline March 25th, 2010, 02:39 PM This building really looks futuristic..........:)

IU I am not sure if you have been to that area. I have been going to that area throughout my life. I know its not one of the best locations. But its not that bad. That area looks a better developed than some of the others in that suburban station.
I don't see these buildings fitting in southern burbs or near South Bombay or so.

hmm lol no dude
thats the total area in the flat.
Prices start from 2.8 crore rupees for the flats making them almost Rs 12500 per sqaure foot
those rates would be seriously low if true for an area like borivali.

this is one super project.
India101 July 18th, 2010, 01:50 AM I don't think 80 floors is allowed in the suburbs. We can save 50 floors+ for the city.
Cov Boy July 19th, 2010, 11:51 PM This is a fab building, will look great once built and suits Mumbai.
I wouldn't wont this building too tall, they are fine as they are.

It seems like Mumbai really has a thing for twin and triple towers. Not nearly as common elsewhere from what I have seen.

taller the better November 13th, 2010, 12:41 PM This is an incredible project!! probably one of the best in the burbs.. Can only imagine what the value ( per sq ft) rate would be if something of this sort was being built in south Mumbai..
sixsigma1978 November 13th, 2010, 05:04 PM It seems like Mumbai really has a thing for twin and triple towers. Not nearly as common elsewhere from what I have seen.
Yes- and thats a good thing IMO - it will help accelerate the density of the skyscrapers and supertalls !
bharatiya November 14th, 2010, 08:10 PM but you dont think it will lead to a skyline that is kind of... repetitive?
sixsigma1978 November 14th, 2010, 08:56 PM but you dont think it will lead to a skyline that is kind of... repetitive?
True - but a "spaced out" skyline density which is shaping mumbai is far superior to the choked wall-to-wall repetitious style of manhattan or even tokyo!! Its more pleasant IMO - I hate NYC - feel like a rat ! Mumbai seems to be moving more towards Dubai styled construction!! Which is damned good!! :)
avishar November 14th, 2010, 10:21 PM @sixsigma I am absolutely the opposite though.I love the density of skyscrapers and prefer them around a certain area instead of them scattered here and there. Its gives a certain "identity" to the skyline. It also allows better planning to take place to cater to the increased needs of tall buildings.
Suburbs should also have high rises too,but get them a bit more closer.
bharatiya November 15th, 2010, 01:51 AM ^^ +1

+1, NYC looks like concrete jungle, as compare to Dubai one, yes there no doubt that NYC has best skyline until Dubai started building :)

Its these designs that should be built in Central Mumbai or even SoBo.
bhargavsura December 25th, 2011, 05:56 AM This is one of my fav residential buildings in the suburbs. Sleek and fantastic cladding. That can be seen in the image posted by 101.
It deserved a "town-side" location.
mihir1310 December 25th, 2011, 05:30 PM It deserved a "town-side" location.
But this location in borivali is no downmarket area either. These buildings are built over the erstwhile Club Aquaria, which was a high end club that attracted the upper middle class of the western suburbs. It was regularly used as a shooting location by tv soaps. They already have 2 luxury towers named as Vasu Kamal in the complex.
bhargavsura December 25th, 2011, 05:59 PM I agree. In fact, I am quite familiar with this area. It is a nice area as far as the burbs are concerned. However, I am not opposed to the location at all. I am saying is that this classic looking building deserved to be in the midst of highrises like the Namaste Tower, Indiabulls Sky Suites/Forest, etc. It is a nice looking building.
mihir1310 December 25th, 2011, 06:10 PM That's one way to look at it. On the other hand, I see this as a sign of bridging the gap between the suburbs and the town.
dunefreezer December 25th, 2011, 10:19 PM That's one way to look at it. On the other hand, I see this as a sign of bridging the gap between the suburbs and the town.
Also to spread the nice looking buildings everywhere. Not just like having good looking building in downtown.
mihir1310 December 27th, 2011, 08:25 AM Also to spread the nice looking buildings everywhere. Not just like having good looking building in downtown.
Yes.
But as a buyer I am not really happy at these projects moving to the Northern suburbs, as they only tend to push property prices even higher. For a middle class family like mine, purchasing a home in Borivali is getting increasingly dearer.
Indiadreams December 27th, 2011, 01:22 PM It is always good to have a mix catering to every class of people. There will just be small pockets which will have those posh projects. While Hiranadani Powai, costs around 20 k per sqft, the surrounding areas may not cost even 10 k per sqft. Similarly, Marine Drive Vs Marine Lines, etc. Otherwise commuting will be difficult and the city will be a hell to live.
There will be price differentation based on overall location and a further differentaition based on sub-location.

MeMumbaikar April 4th, 2012, 11:55 AM Just don't add a diving board! The incredible apartments that have swimming pools instead of balconies
Architects have made a splash with a bold design for new towers in Mumbai featuring swimming pools enclosed in glass instead of balconies.
Known as Aquaria Grande, the 37-storey skyscrapers were the result of a collaboration between Hong Kong-based architect James Law and Indian real estate company Wadhwa Group.
The complex would have 200 apartments, three levels of car parking, a gym and sauna.
But not everybody feels inspired by the ambitious vision, with technology blog Gizmodo describing it as an 'architectural nightmare'.
Writer Jesus Diaz claims on the site that the design is a 'deadly accident waiting to happen'.
He adds: 'No matter what you want to call this, I would call it crazy.'
Another blogger for the mymodernmet site, however, appeared to find the idea of swimming pool balconies more appealing.
Contributor Pinar said the design represented an 'unbelievable skyscraping residential complex'.
She said the pools were among its 'most outstanding and eye-popping features.'

the usual slum/rich comments aside which have become par in the british media.
and the fact that the daily mail is not always an accurate paper.
Seems we have bit of an architectural gem on our hands. Would experts agree?

mihir1310 April 4th, 2012, 04:51 PM Too much water usage. How the hell did the BMC approve of this ?
Well, let me guess.
Suncity April 4th, 2012, 06:13 PM From the tower renders - doesn't look like all floors will have a pool. Maybe just the penthouses.

The pool render is of the Bandra Ohm project and wrongly attributed to Aquaria Grande. It was all over reddit, pinterest etc in February. Seems like no one bothered to verify :/

you can swim in it much and i am creeped out about the glass giving way.

TutConr April 6th, 2012, 06:47 AM The photos that conned a Brit tabloid, and gave city builder a headache
Wadhwa group’s office inundated with calls after a UK newspaper ran a story on its website about the developer’s project, featuring swimming pools enclosed in glass instead of balconies
A series of photographs that have been floating around on the internet have ostensibly conned a leading British tabloid, and sent a prominent Mumbai-based developer’s phone into overdrive.
A few weeks ago, photographs of a plush apartment complex where every balcony was a swimming pool went viral on the internet. These photographs appeared in a set along with images of the Wadhwa Group’s upcoming Aquaria Grande complex in Borivali.
A leading British tabloid put two and two together, and ran a story on their website about the Wadhwa group’s project featuring swimming pools enclosed in glass instead of balconies. They even analysed the feasibility of the pools-for-verandahs plan.
Ever since the story appeared, the developer’s office and brokers dealing with the project located in Borivili have been inundated with phone calls from potential buyers, with one of the brokers saying they had been receiving enquiries from all around the world.

"Tower A – All slabs done, Painting done. Possession by coming June
Tower B – 17th Floor Slab, Entire Podium completed"
The roof/crown is yet to be constructed but the crane has already been dismantled from the taller tower. Looks like the roof part is simplified because of financial reasons ? :(

The roof/crown would make this iconic....lets see what happens.
Disappointing if the roof/crown is not made as in the renders.
henchman May 5th, 2013, 05:44 PM anyone having inside info about the roof/crown on this building?
ubermeow May 6th, 2013, 09:16 AM I can only count 34 flrs including the podium. 41 floors seems to be incorrect or maybe the construction on the top floors is yet to be completed.....but the crane has been dismantled !!???
