On October 18, 2011, in City Hall, NEWS, by Rey Grado
TACLOBAN CITY – Mayor Alfred Romualdez discussed to the village chief of San Jose area that in coming up with a place that caters good atmosphere to businessmen is one of the important factors that makes business bloom on a certain community.

He cited that a tie up between government and private partnership is also needed as it will help make the place attain progress and development.

“This is just one of the mandates that were discussed by no less than President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III during his recent State of the Nation Address (SONA),” Mayor Romualdez said.

In compliance to this mandate, the chief executive mentioned that he is encouraging private investors to invest and put business here not only for making the economy better but also for addressing the unemployment problem.

“The more investors that would come here, the better impact it would give to the place. All of them have to prove what they can for the community,” he explained.

Furthermore, Mayor Romualdez uttered that making drainage in the city could not involve private sector. This is the reason why the city government has to put necessary funding in order to realize this.

He also pointed out that in order to encourage business owners to put up business, tong must be removed.

“I am so happy that Robinson’s Place Tacloban is now extending their business, though they are just about more than a year operating here,” he ended.

Roundabouts or rotondas should be free flowing from vehicular traffic and if pedetrian crossing will be located in here there will be traffic jams or (the worst case) putting danger to those people who will cross this rotonda. I do hope the concerned people would further enhance the pedestrian crossings in this area. Why not putting up designated underpass or overpass in this area that would be an eyesore to beautification project, the main objective of this project. And not only that, loading and unloading area should be properly designated or carefully studied since most of the people coming form downtown and San Jose district maka a stop in here for connecting ride going to south bound of the city or going to Robinsons Place Tacloban/GSIS/SSS establishments and vice versa. :okay:

Safety of the people (pedestrians) shall be the first priority. :okay:

^^ agree... Delikado it pedestrian hini nga area... Mas na prefer ak hin underpass kay baduy pagkiton it overpass but well....we need lots of money for this particular project... “That is a doable and not a bloated budget (proposal),” Dy said.

Napansin niyo nga nagtitikadamo it hotels didi ha Tacloban most of them adto ha downtown. :) Maupay ito para kun host it Tacloban hin mga national conventions at least diri na problemahon it uukyan hit at visitors. :)
