I read this blog about the current ranking of busiest airports in the philippine for 2010, (Pueblo Philippines (http://www.pueblophilippines.com/busiest-airports-in-the-philippines-in-2010)). I am bit disappointed to the blogger kasi menintion na lahat nakasali sa top 10 ni hindi mabanggit ang Tacloban airport maski man lang "gateways to provincial centers". In fact, regional pa nga ang DZR airport. Oo nga di tayo "international gateway" or "major tourism destinations" bagan nakakaminus na gad.

Feeling ko bias hin doro ito nga blogger. Kaya di tayo napapansin ng national government na maski naman la world-wide-web publicity very unfair and bias kung magpost or blog regarding to our own airport. Porque't wala tayong maipagmamalaki, aba parati naman pasok sa top 10 ang DZR airport when it comes to passenger and air cargo traffic. Remember this is world wide web at madaming nakakabasa mapabanyaga man, OFW, Filipino migrants/expats, or even mga taga-local. Be responsible naman po tayo.

TACLOBAN CITY-The members of the city council approved the 2012 annual budget and two other equally important measures during their regular session on Wednesday.

The council, dominated by allies of Mayor Alfred Romualdez, approved his proposed 2012 budget of P827,112,755.03 without any revision and considered to be the biggest budget ever in the city’s history.

Also approved by the council members were the Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for 2012 in the amount of P2,633,701,642, also the
biggest AIP ever submitted by the city’s chief executive and the controversial measure revising the city’s tax ordinance, particularly on revision on the real property tax.

Among the items under next year’s AIP include the proposal to construct a new City Hall in the amount of P200 million; P70 million for sanitary landfill; improvement of the Daniel Z. Romualdez (DZR) Airport in the amount of P20 million; construction of welcome signs of P4 million; and construction/repair of the city new bus terminal in the amount of P100 million.

It can be noted that air pollution level in some schools today even in Leyte is continuously increasing due to some activities that some school administrators themselves tolerate or those activities made by households around the school community.

One of the activities is garbage burning wherein wrappers, paper bags, plastic bags, newspapers, used office supplies and others are burned in open areas without considering its negative effect to the environment.

are there ordinances in tacloban that also ensure that clean air act is implemented? this is also a problem in the city. there are household that burns plastic, woods and other pollutants for cooking and it does disturb the clean air we should be enjoying. i passed by one establishment near the tacloban mercado and the establishment next to m lhuilier near manhattan inn is full of smoke that sometimes smells so bad and it sometimes irritates your eyes. it really annoys you especially when you are already comfortably seated while waiting for your pera padala at m lhuilier. i dont know if such establishments can be charged for polluting our air. i have been there many times and i always see those smokes and smell those burned materials while waiting at m lhuilier, i dont know if they're burning those red barks which they sell. but the smell is really repulsive. hope the city hall could conduct an inspection especially when it's almost lunch time coz that's the time i often see those smokes that are irritating. yun pa naman ang time na free ako kaya yun din time ng pagpunta ko dun. tapos pag-uwi ko sa amin, amoy sunog na ako dahil sa ginagawa nila. paging mayor romualdez...

are there ordinances in tacloban that also ensure that clean air act is implemented? this is also a problem in the city. there are household that burns plastic, woods and other pollutants for cooking and it does disturb the clean air we should be enjoying. i passed by one establishment near the tacloban mercado and the establishment next to m lhuilier near manhattan inn is full of smoke that sometimes smells so bad and it sometimes irritates your eyes. it really annoys you especially when you are already comfortably seated while waiting for your pera padala at m lhuilier. i dont know if such establishments can be charged for polluting our air. i have been there many times and i always see those smokes and smell those burned materials while waiting at m lhuilier, i dont know if they're burning those red barks which they sell. but the smell is really repulsive. hope the city hall could conduct an inspection especially when it's almost lunch time coz that's the time i often see those smokes that are irritating. yun pa naman ang time na free ako kaya yun din time ng pagpunta ko dun. tapos pag-uwi ko sa amin, amoy sunog na ako dahil sa ginagawa nila. paging mayor romualdez...

Meron ML taxi or mga Spider cabs jan sa Tacloban DZR airport nakatambay pwede ka sumakay at pahatid sa RPT GoHotel. Don't know the rates malamang nasa Php 50++. Pwede ka naman sumakay na mga PUJs na regular dumadaan sa DZR airport at sabihin mo sa driver na sa Coca-Cola/ Boy Scout rotunda ka lang baba. Php 8.00 lang ata ang pamsahe mula airport to Coca-Cola/ Boy Scout rotunda. Pagdating mo dun sa rotunda na iyon pwede mo nang lakarin or sumakay sa mga south bound na mga PUJs or sumakay sa pedicabs.

WOW nice. There are 30 existing taxi units in the city in the meantime plus 25 Toyota Vios plus two shuttle plus myda pa mga nakakuha han kontrata sa gohotels, that's roughly 60 taxis in the city by next year. Ambot kun tuhay na it patakaran hit ML taxi. Baga nabati naman ak hin ad ha Bombo Radyo na ireport it diri mag-gamit hin metro. I remain my fingers crossed for this progress in transpo in the city. Sana mayda pa mag venture nga taxi company dinhi para diri ma monopolize hit ML it taxi needs dinhi ciudad.:banana:

As per @urban_legend spider cabs were already un-operational so it's your choice to take ML Taxi or go by PUJs (which is very hassle when you have luggage). :)

It seem's GoHotels-Tacloban will not be opened up to the end of January 2011, sorry to disappoint you. :ohno:

But don't be sad, you have still the option to try Tacloban's and Leyte's newest Hotels... Check this out!

The oriental looks very nice, but is a bit out of my price range. Maybe for a couple of nights it might be nice to try.

I'd like to stay near the Robinsons/ Astrodome area if possible. I have read that the Basic Rooms hotel near the Astrodome is pretty good for the price. Would you have any other suggestions for a budget room?

Hmm, I saw that "Basic Rooms hotel" in the corner of Mangga, Sagkahan a bit nearer to the Astrodome just in front of Sagkahan Baywalk and along Real Street. At first, you may look like a residential house / motel but it is a budget hotel. I just forget the name and had never tried to stay.

PING! Tacloban-base forumers! Guys, maaram kamo ano it ngaran ito nga ak sinisiring nga "Basic Rooms hotel" aada ha Mangga, Sagkahan? Harani la hit Cafe Lucia nga dapit.

So far, it's the closest budget hotel I know. Other than that, all are located in the downtown area. But if you change your mind to stay in the downtown area, I would love to suggest to you to try ROSVENIL PENSIONE HAUS.

TACLOBAN CITY- Cosina Don Vicente, an eat and drink-all-you-can restaurant opened its first outlet at Robinsons Place Annex, a dining place with great ambience and offers menu that satisfies the taste of both local and foreign food lovers.
“It’s really a beautiful and well-designed restaurant. It serves a combination of different other cuisines. The opening of many restaurants in the city is a good sign. It shows that the atmosphere for business here is ideal,” said Mayor Romualdez.

TACLOBAN CITY- The opening of Go Hotels will proceed on March 2012 after Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) failed to meet the timetable to complete the project this month due to incessant rains during the third quarter of this year, an official said in an interview yesterday.

The 98-room hotel is now 70% complete with works now concentrated on interior room settings, said Sweetheart De Paz, malls operations manager of Robinsons Place Tacloban.

The original two-storey shopping area has a total gross floor area of 31,000 square meters, the commercial center was built along the national highway, in Taboan, Marasbaras district of this city. The annex’s floor area is about half of size of the original building.

Hmm, may-ada ka naman point pero di mo naman maiiwas it unemployment dinhi ha aton. It point ko to inform those people who would like to have better jobs whether they like it to work in Cebu or not. Bacolod Silay to Open International Next Year
December 8, 2011



The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines approved the gateway status of Bacolod-Silay Airport as a new International Airport for the Philippines after Kalibo was opened few years ago.


"This is in line with the Open Skies Policy of the Government" says Ramon S. Gutierrez, CAA Director General.


Four more airports are slated for conversion to gateway status before 2015, the deadline set by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as international entry point into the country. The regional group is implementing the second stage of the ASEAN Open Skies Agreement.
The other airports considered for gateway status are Legaspi, Tacloban, Cagayan De Oro and Iloilo

yes, Tacloban will be an international airport. I read somewhere an announcement by sec. roxas that 200M has been alloted for the rehablitation of TAC terminal early 2012.

Last week when I was listening to DYVL thru Ustream, nabati-an ko ha news nga this 2012, na submit na daw ang proposal ni Cong. Noel it DZR airport rehabilitation thru PPP program ng national gov't. Isasama na raw sa meeting with Sec. Mar Roxas. :) I hope ma push through na eton nga project.:) Puro tubtub news la kita hini.:lol:

i've heard dynasty square is ok... the problem with dynasty center is not their fengshui or location. it's the type of shop that is renting the place. there's nothing special with the shop renting the center. if they rented it to red ribbon or to krispy kreme or maybe a good resto, i think it's gonna work well. or maybe any specialty sports shop like tobys. there must be something that would attract people in... it must be something that is well known and something people want...
