the last time i was in a cinema in nairobi, all i can remember was the filth, rats and ripped up chairs; i wonder if any renovations have been done to any of the cinemas, or has there been construction of new ones....how about imax theaters, 3D and what not???
desert burner April 5th, 2010, 07:35 AM :lol::lol: i guess you used to visit the old ones like the cameo and odeon :) now you can go for the world class screens in the most of the shopping malls, the Sarit, the junction, prestige plaza, the village market mall and many others, give it a shot when you go back this time

Wow! What year was that! Were you in Kenya two decades ago? Cinema's are things many here take for granted and all the major cities have them and in Nairobi's case almost every neighbourhood apart from Eastlands (Which will soon get a couple of them once the malls are complete.)

Yes, there are several. Mostly in the larger malls.:)
I was wondering if cameras are even allowed in cinema halls. I guess this is one of my "no go zones" as far as photography is concerned. Malls and the Gigiri suburb may come second. (I really feel uncomfortable taking snaps in these places.)

The cineplex on Wilson road closed sometime back. I thought La Bonita was a theatre for watching plays. Never heard of the rest.

Where exactly is the plaza cinema? I've tried to think of where it is located along the entire stretch of that road from the Jinja road junction upto Bombo road. I just can't place it.
