I hope they restore the 'train carriage' restaurant......yea....and they seemed to be dissapearing and being replaced by Quality Inns. Their Holiday Inn In The City is now Quality Inn (< I personally dislike this name) :D
baqthier December 17th, 2004, 02:14 PM Completed already?
Pablo December 22nd, 2004, 02:42 PM Quality Inn..emm...sound a bit weird..:D But it gives a feeling that this hotel is very high-class..:D
liping_t December 25th, 2004, 06:26 AM The 'Quality Inns' are under the same umbrella as the 'Best Westerns' and 'Comfort Inn' in the US. Mostly 3 star hotels, affordable, non-luxurious accomondation.

I was going to spend time there, but even after the intrudoction rate it was still very expensive. Official rate is like RM460++, for such a price I would prefer the Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La or even the Crown Plaza. :bash:
baqthier January 5th, 2006, 10:59 AM wow expensive? What goodies come with that price?

I think only proximity to KLCC. After all it's a 4* shop and I found their pricing
to be too high and I hope that they have to review their room rates once Traders Hotel is open.

I have the same confusion like u did.. The site board did tell somethg else, but the rendering u had posted show the tower is exactly right behind impiana beside the road. Could it be managed by impiana later? In recent development, a tender notice of the second phase has already published out last week.

HOTEL management firm Impiana Hotels & Resorts expects the Impiana KLCC Hotel & Spa to make between RM32 million and RM34 million in revenue in the first year of operations.
The hotel is looking at an average occupancy rate of 75 per cent and an average room rate (ARR) of RM205 this year.
The RM200 million Impiana KLCC Hotel, owned by KLCC Holdings Bhd, expects to post a gross operating profit margin of between 15 per cent and 20 per cent after the second year.
The hotel, which opened for business on December 1 2005, enjoyed full occupancy during the month, thanks to the Asean Summit held in mid-December.
“We also had a good crowd on New Year’s eve, as KLites seem to prefer to stay at hotels,” Impiana group general manager Mohamad Halim Merican told Business Times.
However, he expects business in the first two weeks of this month to slow down before picking up in the third week.
“In February, we are expecting occupancy to hit 60 per cent as many have booked for meetings at our hotel and at the (KLCC) convention centre,” he said.
The 520-room hotel has opened the first tower, comprising 335 rooms. The remaining rooms, located in the second tower, are scheduled for opening in October 2007.
On the status of Impiana Hotels buying up to a quarter of the hotel, Mohamad Halim said: “It has not been finalised yet.”
Meanwhile, Mohamad Halim said that the Impiana group has allocated some RM10 million this year for advertisements and promotions of all its hotels.
Of the amount, RM4 million will be used to promote the recently opened Impiana KLCC.
The remainder will be used to promote Impiana hotels in Cherating in Pahang, and Koh Samui and Phuket in Thailand.
Impiana Cherating has been undergoing an upgrading and refurbishment exercise since last year. “We have painted, changed the roofing, done repairs ... we have spent about RM5 million and are still counting,” he said.
In Phuket, the hotel was closed for about a year after suffering damage when the tsunami hit the island on December 26 2004. Some RM35 million was spent on rebuilding the hotel.
Impiana Resort Samui, meanwhile, will be refurbished this year at an estimated cost of RM5.5 million.

This is actually an office tower at the back of Impiana... As can be seen from the pix, Impiana is on the side but at a wrong angle...
RM460 a night? Man, that is one expensive 4-star hotel! How can they charge this sort of rate just because the hotel is opposite the KLCC?
