Due to school being out, I think I'll try my hand at Sim City 3000. I've tried a buncha times to get a city up and running, and after a bunch of useless google searches I'm at my rope's end. Can someone point me to some good tutorials or pointers?

Thanks :)

Welcome to the forum!

I have not created any tutorials here ..yet. Something I guess I should get around to doing. ;)

Basically what you need to do is get an industrial section, residential section, and a small commercial section put in all linked by roads. Place water, power, police, fire, and schools and your city is set to go. Don't forget to link water and power with power lines and pipes.

Sim City 3000 is easy compared to Sim City 4 (in my opinion and experience).

I just start out with a little of everything in a grid like fashion then expand when nessary adding parks and services along the way. Works all the time for me!

Also, don't put zones to far away from each other or zones or your buildings will abandoned due to "poor transportation to other zones".
