Noonos November 14th, 2002, 08:38 AM Whats the height?
Fabian November 14th, 2002, 09:56 AM I never seen such a narrow site for a commercial development. It would have to be one of the narrowest office towers in Australia.
SinCity November 15th, 2002, 12:44 AM Museumb, Thanks for finding the info on TIMWIN. I had a difficult time trying to find information on their North Sydney project so as to at least confirm that height of the building. TIMWIN are also constructing a "La Maison" down near the old Mortuary Station at Central, this tower I think is a tad bit shorter.
Fabian, both towers that Museumb has shown occupy the most incredibly narrowest blocks, your average suburban home sits on a wider block of land.
However that is Sydney for you! Shove them in to where you can fit them! ;)
fro November 15th, 2002, 01:34 AM Fark me thats a narrow block...:eek2:
CULWULLA November 15th, 2002, 03:05 AM col ill add it to skyscrapers .com. At 18 office levels would it be about 18x4m = 72m tall?
SinCity November 15th, 2002, 04:14 AM Cul, thats an 18 level residential with some office/retail at the base :)

Cul, thats an 18 level residential with some office/retail at the base :)
oops! thanks for that so 18x 3 =54m.
Muse November 15th, 2002, 05:02 AM Source Timwin Architectural Dept for La Maison on Pacific:
basement Levels = 3 (looked very deep for 3, anywho....)
Ground Level = retail
Levels 2-4 = Commercial suites
Levels 5-16 = Accommodation
+ Plant room/service floor/lift hoists
= total 18 floors above ground (total 21 floors).
Height: RL = 97.6m and from street level 47.65m.
CULWULLA November 15th, 2002, 08:01 AM excellent !! thanks for that musemb!! ill fix up skyscrapers.com database!!
ill lodge it at 48m rounded off figure!! or exact same height as Culwulla Chambers!!:D
Noonos November 15th, 2002, 08:14 AM Holy Moo Cow thats a thin site!!! It looks to be a miniscule 6 or 7m!!!!!!!!!!
Fabian November 16th, 2002, 02:49 AM In what street can you find "La Maison on Pacific"?
Noonos November 16th, 2002, 03:37 AM 71 walker st I guess (no I mean it , I'm really guessing)
SinCity November 18th, 2002, 01:08 AM Fabian, its on the Pacific Highway, not too sure on the number, thats why its called La Maison on Pacific, the La Maison near Central has a different name which probably is location related.
Fabian November 18th, 2002, 12:32 PM That one near Central is actually known as "La Maision on Regent".
Muse November 19th, 2002, 12:24 AM The La Maison at Camperdown is going to be on St Johns Road opposite the large QVie/city Quarter development. Camperdown is buzzing with apartment developments.
La Maison on Pacific is at the beginning of the Pacific Hwy into North Sydney opposite the curved Harbourview Hotel (that funnily enough looks like the Camperdown Travelodge) near the station.
Fabian December 3rd, 2002, 10:16 PM There is a report in todays Sydney Morning Herald about Blade if anyone is interested. Here are some further details.
*First new purpose-built office/retail strata site to be completed in North Sydney in the past few years
*22 units available as part of a strata development at an average of $560 000 with a return of 6 percent.
Noonos December 4th, 2002, 07:41 AM I went past the site the other day in a bus, it is indeed a heel of a thin site!
SinCity December 4th, 2002, 08:03 AM The formwork to Blade is almost finished, next is the interior and the facade ;) Then its all done.
Muse December 18th, 2002, 11:20 AM Today on my North Sydney CBD walk, I checked both Blade @ 71 Walker Street and La Maison On Pacific.
Firstly Blade. The facade is heavily scaffolded yet seems to have topped out.
In regard to La Maison on Pacific, the 3 basement levels are going full steam ahead. These basement levels I was informed by an on-site Timwin representative, will be reserved as carspaces for the 4 lower floor commercial level tenants and the residential occupants.
He also infromed me that the anticipated completion date for La Maison on Pacific (realistically) will be the end of 2003/beginning of 2004.
Muse January 29th, 2003, 09:07 AM Today's update on Blade @ 71 Walker St & La Maison On Pacific:
The green scaffolding ATM scales the height of the Blade project. Apparently the completion date stands @ April 2003.
In regard to La Maison is still @ foundation level. Previously the foundations were @ 3 basment levels, but on visiting the site office today, it is now @ 5 basement levels below ground.
The aniticpated completion date on the La Maison Timwin project now stands @ June/July 2004.
SinCity January 30th, 2003, 04:42 AM All the "La Maisons" are taking forever to reach street level and thats no joke considering their heights. The same situation @ Regent St near Railway Sq. I wish they would rise. Just compare Blade to La Maison in Nth Sydney, they both started at the same time and look where they are both at. Blade is virtually finished!
Muse February 2nd, 2003, 08:34 AM Both La Maison on Regent & La Maison on Larkin (Camperdown) haven't even started construction yet, even though the hordings have been up for a while at the Regent site and an advertising board at the Larkin site. Might give Timwin a call and find out what's happening with them.
Meanwhile, back at La Maison on Pacific, typical residential floor plans.....

Muse March 1st, 2003, 08:39 PM Blade @ 71 Walker is virtually finished. Although the hordings @ street level are still up, the glasswork on the top 7 levels is beautiful and slick.....from floors to ceilngs, giving great views of Walker Street for the office workers.
With over 35% sold now for the 21 strata offices, and Blade's anticipated completion is for April 2003.

Now for La Maison on Pacific...
2 x deep holes towards the back of the site, possibly as sump pits for water drainage and run-off eg for leaks in the plumbing systems or rain seepage/run-off.
A large schematic diagram of a sump pit:

The core is already in progress in the basement levels.
There is also a large crane on site too.

The scaffoling is now off Blade and it is looking like a crisp glass 10 storey building - top notch modern commercial architecture :) .
Next for La Maison On Pacific:
The basement levels are rising very quickly indeed and a large crane is already set in place :okay: .
SinCity March 31st, 2003, 04:25 AM La Maison on Pacific, if not all of the La Maison construction sites have got to be one of the most slowest ever. The amount of time taken just to excavate and to start some formwork is utterly ridiculous.
In the time taken for their Nth Sydney venture, Meriton could have constructed 100 World Towers.
Its as if they are digging for gold or looking for the lost city of Atlantis?????? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?
I sure hope its worth the wait, otherwise it truly sad! >(
Muse May 21st, 2003, 07:23 PM 18 levels (including ground and top plant level) consisting of retail, 8 commercial suites and 40 apartments.

***Still 3 levels below ground with a huge crane on site yet still not reaching the highest level of the tower.
kennyk May 22nd, 2003, 03:33 PM WOW thats a really skinny site:eek:
Fabian June 21st, 2003, 02:47 AM I noticed on Monday while looking towards North Sydney from Milsons Point, there was a crane coming from the site. It's very visible as you approach North Sydney from the Harbour Bridge.

It was so tempting to climb over that fence and climb down the stairs into the basement levels.

Muse August 29th, 2003, 02:30 PM Well climbing_crane, what have the last 3 pic posts got to do with La Maison? Just pic post spamming huh?
I was in North Sydney this afternoon @ about 3.30PM and La Maison on Pacific from what I observed was nothing to write home about, so to speak.
climbing_crane September 6th, 2003, 11:30 AM Who said there's nothing to write home about? From that highway out front it doesn't look like much but you walk down the side lane and it is about 4 levels above ground. That green mesh blends in lushiously with the building next door.

Muse September 6th, 2003, 11:40 AM At long last. Geez, all TimWin projects take forever to get off the ground - like their Regent St project down at Central. They've been up to about level 3/4 for the last 5-6 weeks.
thanks c_c. Apologies for my last post BTW. I must have had a shitty day and you were in the firing line. Ooooops - I know when I'm being an insensitive shitbag :(
.
Trances September 8th, 2003, 03:49 PM Used to walk that way to work about 2 years ago looks so different today
It was about when I came up that laneway I would have to wake up because of the traffic ahead. LOL

Muse December 2nd, 2003, 11:02 PM Still a fair height to go by the last pic posts by climbing_crane (esp. by the height of the crane) and Fabian, which is a good thing! :)
Fabian January 14th, 2004, 11:16 AM La Masion on Kent earlier this evening. It's gone up about three floors since last update. I think it's now around level 14. Were nearly there.;)

how are these going? completed yet?
climbing_crane February 23rd, 2004, 02:39 AM Nearly. The toppest levels are thinning out and we still have craneage.
Fabian February 27th, 2004, 10:34 AM The site today. I think it has topped out. :)

Fabian March 12th, 2004, 08:39 AM Looks like a completely different scraper from that angle CC.
Here's progress on the Pacific Highway side. Through the mesh, you can see the first signs of cladding on level 5

Muse May 16th, 2004, 02:12 AM Unbelievable. Timwin have only taken almost 2 years to get to this stage. I think there must have been no more than 4 people working on it at any one time. :|
...
Fabian May 29th, 2004, 11:03 AM The scaffholding is starting to come off at last, exposing the facade

Muse August 4th, 2004, 07:03 AM Yesterday while In North Sydney after checking out Beau Monde's construction, on the way back to the station I checked out La Maison On Pacific.
The tower has definitely topped out. :)
The green mesh was off the top 3 floors which were looking good. However the mesh is back on the lower floors of the tower. My only guess is that the mesh is back on to complete the balconies, glass balustrades for the balconies and perhaps the windows for the apartments.
Fabian August 14th, 2004, 12:21 PM The mesh is coming off, revealing this. The tower is looking fairly good.

CULWULLA August 14th, 2004, 12:39 PM yeah , i see this one everyday. looks ok for a wall filler.lol
Fabian August 28th, 2004, 08:48 AM The scaffholding is almost down. What do you think?
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid137/p4859ada80092c73a352c229fd42a0046/f740a5cb.jpg
Tony P August 28th, 2004, 08:58 AM The slenderness is it's greatest strength, but the the set back looks good good and the window size makes it seem more "converted office/warehouse-ish".
I suspect by the time the interiors are done, it will be time for an updating makeover!
Muse August 28th, 2004, 09:08 AM I passed there yesterday and as Fabian's last few pic posts display, the scafolding is still prevelant on the western side of La Maison.
Vitriol August 28th, 2004, 03:56 PM There's not much to say is there? Looks like a few boxes stacked on top of each other. In fact, if you were walking down the street at a steady pace, you probably wouldn't even give it a second glance.
CULWULLA November 4th, 2004, 11:36 AM this is finished now. ill have to get a pic.
