The governor of Muthanna Ibrahim Mayali In a special statement (Official site of Al Muthanna province): "We have today the foundation stone of the city of Samawah industry, which has an area (337) acres, located on the road to green tourism, at a cost of 1.5 billion dollars."
And said Mayali "would include the industrial city to be implemented by a company Konkeritk and Company (Bntd Krupp) Australian 9 investment projects, including factories, dyes insulation and household cleaners, industrial and edible salt, water purification, templates, precast concrete and the production of medical oxygen as well as the manufacture of prefabricated housing units and a pool of Concrete-ready addition to the Institute specialized studies and a cement factory. "
He said the governor of Muthanna, "will contribute to the industrial city of Samawah in reviving the economic reality in the province of Muthanna as well as provided thousands of jobs for the people of the province."

A delegation included number of experts and engineers represents (CNBM) China Company arrived to AL Muthanna province so as to make primary studies to start installing AL Dooh cement plant to the Iraqi investor Mr. Hashim AL Khawam .The cost (270.000.000 $) in full capacity about (3200 Ton per year ) it will be hoped to achieve during three years , the factory will set up in AL Samawa desert ( 6Km.) to western south from AL Muthanna Cement Factory . AL Dooh cement factory will contribute in employ more than (700)workers in different specializes .It noted that the delegation of the company has met the local Government in AL Muthanna province so as to coordinate the efforts in achieving the project and provide the security guarantees that local government has promised to Chinese's staff who will arrive in number (500) workers in order to install the factory and training Iraqi labor. CNBM Company is owned to Chinese Government also is concerned in the first class in the space of cement factories industry & product cement in China.From his side the delegation of CNBM has appreciated in the wide support which submit by a local government and distinguished efforts for M.I.C as well as the biggest cooperation to make the company executive other projects during the next period.

AL Muthanna province Council has decided delivering lands which about (337 acres) to Australasian Panted Group to set up number of the Investment projects as AL Samawa Industrial city .Dr. Mohammed Hammod the a chief delegation of Australasian Panted Group who said that the group will be started to execute all its projects after delivery lands. From his side Mr. Kareem AL Saedi the executive manager to Sidcco company for Industrial consultant which one of the Industry Ministry’s Company who announced of his company has ratified a joint cooperation agreement with Australasian Panted Group for the technical -technology supervision on all the projects as well as geology survey & soil examine. It should be noted that Australasian Panted Group has ratified agreement with M.I.C to execute (11) Investment projects included :-Dyeing isolated factory , Industrial-Housing detergents , food salt ,water refining , readymade Concrete blocks , Medical oxygen , Manufacture of readymade housing materials , readymade Concrete Complex and Cement plant as well as set up specialized institute for studying and It has got approval to build (10000) housing unit in the province in cost of 2000 Million$. Company to spend $110 mln to renovate factory

* Contract is 15-year joint venture contract

BAGHDAD, June 20 (Reuters) - Iraq has awarded Turkey's Partner Teknik a contract to renovate a cement factory as part of plans to rehabilitate its dilapidated state industries after years of wars and sanctions, the government said on Monday.

Adel Karim, a deputy minister of industry and minerals, said the factory in Samawa, 230 km (140 miles) south of Baghdad, was set up in the 1980s and designed to produce 2 million tonnes of cement annually. It currently only produces 20 percent of that.

The Turkish company, which has an Iraqi partner, needs to spend around $110 million to reach 90 percent of its designed capacity in 36 months, another official in the ministry said.

Karim told Reuters, the factory "has been awarded and the signing of the contract with the investor will be within days."

Iraq is trying to shake off the legacy of years of violence, sanctions and economic decline by opening up its financial and industrial sectors and luring foreign investment and expertise to help it rebuild.

Karim said the company will have a 73 percent share of production at the plant with the remainder going to the ministry in the 15-year contract.

The ministry has placed a condition on the Samawa contract that the Turkish and Iraqi partners keep all Iraqi staff currently employed at the state-owned factory, Karim said.

The ministry is seeking joint ventures with foreign companies in an attempt to protect Iraqi state employees at its factories and saving them from dismissal. There are 200,000 employees working Iraqi's state-owned factories and companies, of which only 30 percent are needed, Karim said.

The ministry has so far managed to attract seven local and foreign investors into the rehabilitation process. Lafarge , a pioneer of investment in Iraq, already has cement plants in semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan. In 2010, it began a $200 million renovation of a Kerbala cement plant.
