Is the construction of building located between Hotel Le Meridien and Sahid already resume or permanently put on hold? Any pics?

Yeah, he is talking about BDNI Center. Well, that construction is now cancelled. So right now, it is an abandoned site.

but im afraid they would have to either retrofit the existing structure or start all over again, because it has already deteriorated. It wouldnt be safe if they continue on with the neglected structure.

I really hope they will build both towers, not just 1. (and if one, I hope it is the taller one). I don't see why any investor can not afford to build both of them if they have enuff money to build one, considering how much more lucrative it would be in terms of future returns if both are built.

Yeah I love the design too, my only concern is that it looks like a copycat of BoC in Hongkong...rather unoriginal. But still looks great nevertheless :okay:

There's one very similar design building in Chongqing which looks like the BOC in Hong Kong too . But that building is very short. I remember I saw someone post a thread about it before

this is exactly the building I'm talking about. Was a bit unsure about the name since BDNI no more exists. Yet I disagree if it's called a copycat. If I'm not mistaken the designer of the original one in HK is the same did this one in JKT. So it's rather 'sister' construction...

and about the same building.. I'm not sure about chongqing, but I know there's a building that looks exactly the same as the smaller tower in the BDNI center design in Tianjin..

early '96 there was a construction behind Chase Manhattan building (Setiabudi). have no idea the name but is it resumed now?

Don't know, but there will soon be two apartments in setiabudi - The Peak (4 towers) and The Icon (2 towers)

The construction behind Chase Plaza [pre-KrisMon] was the proposed Chase Plaza extension, it was slated to include a 60-story Office Tower, Retail, Luxury Hotel & Serviced Apartments. This is from Duta Anggada, Chase Plaza owners.

PLAZA GALLERIA Jakarta, Mixed-Use Development [60-story Office Tower, 4 story High-End Shopping Mall, 20-story Luxury Hotel, and 20-story Serviced Apartments]. Right behind Chase Plaza. Doesn't look like they're going to resume construction. Simply look at the company's website, and u'll know why. Website looks absolutely shoddy, no updates, pics of past projects are just "pasted" on haphazardly.

passion, thanks for your update. I used to live (kos-kosan) in Setia Budi in '96 and always Chase Plaza extention project. Too bad we're hit so bad by '97 crisis that many project halted. Wish new government can bring more stability and confidence back to the country ;)
