Inputs and Suggestions

I would like to suggest a couple of things to this sub-forum. Right now, it is starting to get messy, and i would like to start organizing things. Would you guys like it if i make the "Ultimate Jakarta skyline Thread" and the "U/Cs in Jakarta thread" a sticky?

Also, try not to start too many threads. Try to keep conversation going at big thread topics. One example is that you have a "Jakarta at Night" thread as well as "Ultimate Jakarta Skyline Thread". Both have pictures of jakarta, but one is concentrating on night shots. I would like to merge these threads. Is that ok? There are also some other threads i would like to merge.

These are just my suggestions...you can accept or reject them if you want:D
Anyways...happy foruming:) and keep it up.

A sub-sub forum is good...but not right now. This sub-forum hasnt grown to that extent yet. We will create them later.:)

Well, i think its not about skyscrapers too, urban and transportation, yet people life and social culture also play big role in the city...maybe what Grey mean with mess is not the topic but to stay at one main thread 1st before creating another thread which is similar. :D

Newbies' question: What is a 'Sticky'? What good it gives us?

Sticky threads remain on the top of the page, even if nobody has replied to it for a while. Important threads are made into stickies.

Thx GreyX. I'd rather keep "Jakarta at Night" and "Ultimate Jakarta Skyline Thread" separately. It's rare to find pics of JKT at night so "Jakarta at Night" thread is rather eye-catching.

hmmm...I'll keep them separate for now, but if one of them gets really inactive, i'll merge them. Same goes for other threads.

I have another suggestion. You guys should speak Bahasa Indonesia more! Too much english around here. Even though its good to speak english so that others can understand, we should also see some of the local flavor of Indonesia...which is by speaking some Indo.

I noticed that participants in this forum not only Endonesian but also Malaysian, Singaporean, Hong Kong people, Philippines etc. So it's better to keep it in English, we shouldn't let them down. Sure we're free to post in Bhs Indo as well. Secondly, It's better so irregular visitors can enjoy. And most importantly we spread more news about Indo in int'l language.

In the Philippines Forum, we do speak english mostly...but for small talk and casual talk between ourselves, we speak tagalog. I think this is the same for the other countries. Maybe you guys can do the same?

Guys, it's good to see that this forum is getting more and more active, yet IMO, we're too much focusing on Jakarta. Need to spice up our forum not only anything going on in Jakarta but also other cities, cultures, people etc.

Some new thread we should open:

1. Indonesian Volcanos (Indonesia 'hosts' more volcanos than any other countries in the world)
2. Languages (how many languages we have?)
3. History (I know someone can read Old Sudannese script here, amazing eh?)
4. you add...

I will start with the Super Volcano Toba Explosions about 75,000 years ago which is the last great explosion in the human history, then I think we could include Krakatoa, Komodo Dragon, Rafflesia, Orang Utan, Nias, Toraja, Borobudur and so on. :)

Please let me know what you all think. I think this will be good to promote Indonesia.

Right now the Indo forum is quite messy, so we wanna get it cleaned up. So we are proposing subsections similar to the ones in the Singapore forum, Malaysia, Thai, Philippines, etc...

the basic ones are u/c subforums, skybar....but if you guys have something you really prefer, just share it

Don't worry about the mess, we used to it ;) Besides, it's kinda normal though since we're just have a forum so all thread are in one root.

As for the name, you know it yet I won't force it and would suggest to hear the opinions from other forumeres.

To resume this discussion, there are talks now for sub-forum, hopefully we can get the sub-forum as soon as possible, meanwhile, lets discuss, should we have the other than skyscrapers discussion in subforum called "skybazaa" or you have any other idea?
