Image Posting Related Question

How to post a picture?
For obvious space reason, this website does not allow you to put picture directly. So you need to 'host' the picture somewhere on the Internet first. You can post it inside your own website or I recommend http://www.imageshack.us. But you must make sure that your image host allow access from other website.

After you've the picture hosted, to post in within your message, just write the picture url within the tag.

Is it possible to post image that already hosted in other website?
Most of the time: yes. Just right click with your mouse and choose something like 'copy image location' (NOT Copy Image). If that doesnt work, please read below how to do a screen capture. Flash file and PDF file require some special treatment too.

How to screen capture an image?
Press Prt-Screen and then open up your favorite image editing software. Create a new image as needed. Then click on Edit->Paste. Edit as needed. (thanks Yama!)

Or you can use a screen capture program. The good one will allow you specify which rectangular area to capture. Go to http://www.download.com and search there.

How to capture an image from Flash movie?
Follow above screen capturing steps.

How to capture an image from PDF file?
You can use above screen capturing tecnique. Or, most PDF file allows you to 'extract' the image.

Depending on the Acrobat Reader version you use, please use the "Select Image" tools. This tools usually reside within your Acrobat Reader tool bar or under the tools menu. After you choose this tool, just left click on the image and then right click to save it.

Are they really gonna build River Rapid Transit (RRT) in Jakarta???
How does it look like? Anybody has an idea?

The river transportation is one of the transportation methods planned in the Jakarta transportation master plan. However, AFAIK, there is no concrete plan about the routes and proposed fleet. Seems that Sutiyoso is still busy with Busway and Monorail.

If you use other images that not your pictures, state the source of the pictures. Especially if the pictures are copyright protected. If the Photographers of the pictures stated you need to ask for permission before posting his/her pictures, then you have to ask him/her first. This to avoid legal issue, which happened couple times ago.

I think, its should remain as a city....a big city.... its not a mertopolitan yet.
We can't call JAKARTA as a mertopolitan yet, since so many things that JAKARTA still don't have them yet.
Like modern mass transit (subway), I hope the monorail project will go ahead to reality. The city sewer system still outdated....the city still have so many open sewers, the draining system also still outdated...every rainy season, the city always get flooded. The city need sewer plant...so all of the raw sewage not gonna ended up in the river or at the Jakarta bay (teluk jakarta).

Well, maybe all of my old friends from I.T.B can take care all of those problems...

I think we need a new moderator. Beside Alvin, the old moderator doesn't really accomodate what the forumers want. Moderator like that NEEDS TO STEP DOWN BY HIS OWN UNDERSTANDING.

I think we need a new moderator. Beside Alvin, the old moderator doesn't really accomodate what the forumers want. Moderator like that NEEDS TO STEP DOWN BY HIS OWN UNDERSTANDING.
The forum needs a refreshment by changing the moderator. Take one down, bring a new one up!!

1. regarding the subforum, its not my decision to have one or not, its up to the admin. And I already proposed it Twice but got all rejected.

2. If you want to change the old moderator, just say it my nickname David-80, be gentle.

3. Alvin is now the forum watchdog when i got my beauty sleep, so if anything happened beyond my limit, its his primary job.

4. When I am doing my job, i dont have to do it loudly, how do you know i merged all threads? how do you know i am the one closed the overlimit threads, like eg Palembang

5. I am here because i was being choosen by the admin not that i was applying for this job, so i have life, work and family.

I think thats enough explanation.

Klo gk salah dulu ada forumer Indo nick nya Haaglanden sekarang ganti jadi Muyangguniang, dia aktif diforum Sim City SSC. So maybe he is the 1st Indo forumer who changed his nick. Anyway that is not important

Opening a new sub forum is lots of work. Harus pindah2in thread nya here in there. Bener2 lots of work deh.

Mungkin, kalo mao usulin sub forum.. harus ada proposal yg lengkap. Di data sub forumnya apa aja, dan thread2 mana aja yg harus di pindah ke sub forum masing2 secara lengkap.

Tugas moderator forum itu berat loh. Apalagi kalo internet connectionnya lambat hehehe.

Kalo ada proposal gitu kan lebih gampang. Bakal keliatan sub forum mana yg bener2 dibutuhin, dan yg mana yg bakal jadi pajangan aja. Yg bener di butuhin, di gol-kan, yg ngga gitu butu - ngga usah di usulin.

Dan nanti Alvin dan David juga punya bukti dan alibi ke moderator2 diatas sana kalo kita itu benar2 butuh new sub forum or total re-arrangement. Dan keliatan profesional mah + respect to them hehehe.

If your photoshoot is targeted for that particular building and you want to post the progress or just showing it to the public, the existing thread might be the place to be. But if you want to show it as panorama pictures (eg skylines) therefore, jakarta skylines thread is the right place.
