"So where are the trees in Java ??"

Probably because Java is one of the densest island in the world. With some 110 million (?) resident in a relatively small island, it has to be.

The Pantura region will probably become a very long city in the near future. In fact, sociologists have been noting this for quite a while. The whole of Java is being steadily urbanized although retaining a somewhat rural character. An urban sociologist called McGee has call this process the desakotasasi.

Java will probably become a very large city in the next 50 years or so.

True. Java roughly is the same size as Victoria in Aussie (the state where Melbourne is) <- correct or not?

As a comparison, Java 110 million. Victoria about 4 to 6 million (?), and Australia as a whole is about 25 million :)

So if people is java jump together, they can create a tidal wave, if they fart together, they can create a thunderstorm hehehe

If say, Java become an Island city, is there any chance java going to sink to the ocean? Too heavy?

"in the next 50 years ... many people in Australia will speak sundanese, javanese, bataknese ... he he he"

Is that true? We've had some groups of Australian students come over. They were studying Indonesian although they haven't grasped it well enough.

Its very interesting. How many Indonesian are there in Australia? How many Australian know the Indonesian language. I mean, as a minority, Indonesian doesn't outweigh Vietnamese or Chinese do they??

No, most indonesian in Aussie is either expat or student or business ppl, not a real citizen, so in current state, there is no way they can outweight vietnamese. but they CAN in the future.

i tried to find the specific number, but its really hard, i dont know why, but everytime i find indo statistic within foreign country government website, it is usualy hard to find. either the number is not disclosed (like what singapore did with that indo-spore trading numbers) or i did not look in the right place.

but for Melbourne CBD only, (not including other innner city area like Carlton, St Kilda, South Bank etc) survey said 11% resident is indonesian, the highest. This make Indonesian as the 2nd language (Mandarin 3rd, english 1st).

But in TOTAL of Melbourne metro, indonesia is no 3 foreign language after mandarin and cantonese (or vietnamese?).

I am too lazy to calculate everything, all the numbers is here :http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/upload/CITY%20SUBURBS%20REPORT.PDF

i heard that Java is the most densely populated in the world according to the guinness book of record 2003 or 4, i forget that part.
i bet in the next 50 years if government doesn't start to develop all area of the country, Java will sink.. since North Jakarta only 2,5 meters above sea level.

sorry i haven't been active in the forum the last couple of months, try to be active more, btw nice pictures

Gunung Bromo
Java - Indonesia

Gunung Bromo (Mount Bromo) is a small but active volcanic cinder cone on the Indonesian island of Java. Bromo is located in the center of the Sandsea Caldera, itself only a portion of the larger Tengger Caldera (a caldera is the circular depression in the center of a volcano’s summit). The Sandsea caldera formed around 8,000 years ago, in what must have been a massive eruption. Subsequent volcanic activity formed the cluster of cinder cones in the caldera’s center, including Bromo.

The historical record indicates eruptions of Bromo every few years since 1804, and geologic evidence indicates eruptions at least several hundred years earlier. The most recent eruption occured in 2004, and tragically killed two tourists.

It's important to note that many satellite images are in near-infrared and have false coloring. The picture I posted of West Java is an example.
