As part of the rejuvenation and revitalization of the towncentre of my hometown Lelystad, West8 Studio, led by Adriaan Geuze made a masterplan for a serie of office and appartment buildings which would form a lowrise mini-skyline. Lelystad is a new town in the Netherlands, build on reclaimed land and is about 30 years old. But it wasn't a very ambitious town in it's appearance. The towncentre was mainly constructed in large lowrise blocks with hardly any identity. Geuze tried to give the town more identity, and the Zilverparkkade is one of the results. He uses the Amsterdam canalhouses principle, with buildings being built side by side, on a small lot. Every one of them designed by a different architect.
Some of the architects who participated are:
René van Zuuk Architecten Almere
Erik van Egeraat Rotterdam
XX Architecten, Rotterdam/ Habeon architecten, Roelofarendsveen
IAA Architecten, Enschede
SeARCH Acrhitecten, Amsterdam
Groep 5 Van Der Ven, Rotterdam
De zwarte hond, Groningen
Meyer en van Schooten, Amsterdam
Benthem Crouwel, Amsterdam

The appartments don't seem to be too popular. Prices are too high I guess. So still there are a lot of them for sale.
The latest two buildings aim at starters though.
