Shanghai “2010 World Expo”: Tunisian stand visited by thousands of visitors

TUNISIAONLINENEWS- With the participation of more than 192 countries from all around the globe and one of the biggest events of the year, the Shanghai “2010 World Expo” opened on Saturday in Shanghai.

The Chinese President and 38 heads of state and government took part on Friday in the official ceremony held on the occasion.

The Tunisian pavilion which is distinguished by an attractive concept that showcases the country’s ancient heritage and the major achievements in recent years, attracted thousands of visitors

The Tunisian presence at the exhibition will be enhanced by an entertainment program that will last 180 days, opening with the Tunisian tourist week in June followed by the Tunisian Chinese friendship days and cultural days respectively in July and October 2010.

Tunisia: first eco-friendly hotel inaugurated

Russelior”, the first eco-friendly hotel in Tunisia, was inaugurated on Tuesday in Yasmine Hammamet.

Unique in its kind in Tunisia, the new hotel unit should appeal to tourists who choose eco- friendly destinations.

With its ecological rooms, blankets and carpets which are made of biological materials, the hotel offers visitors high quality services and state of the art accommodation conditions.

Located in a lush green park, the hotel houses a large variety of flowers and an oasis of some 2000 palm trees.

During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Slim Tlatli, Minister of Tourism stressed that this achievement is an example of efforts exerted to offer a tourist product that meets the demands of foreign and Tunisian tourists.

He also emphasized the importance of this achievement which will certainly enhance the image of the Tunisian tourist destination, given the excellent level of services it offers. In 2009, the hotel was awarded the President of the Republic's Energy Saving Prize.

Tunisie : Le tourisme de plaisance s’introduit à Djerba

Le nouveau port de plaisance de Djerba Houmet Essouk semble attirer d’ores et déjà les touristes européens. La preuve, 62 yachts viennent d'y accoster, avec à leur bord 280 touristes à fort pouvoir d’achat, venus essentiellement de France, d’Italie, d’Allemagne, d’Autriche et de Suisse. Ce qui est bien pour les affaires de l'île, mais à condition toutefois de leur proposer de produits locaux de qualité.
